He's young, a black conservative, Mitch McConnell's protégé and potential successor, the Kentucky Attorney General elected in 2019.

He is reviled in the progressive community, called an "Uncle Tom".

Do you fear this KY GOP star?

That is where I stand when it comes to voting for Daniel Cameron as the attorney general of Kentucky. And trust me, as a black woman, I understand why black people may support him. Daniel Cameron is a black man, and he has achieved what many would consider success in a world that does its best to oppress black people. However, in spite of all his accomplishments, Daniel Cameron does not stand on the side of right and justice. Daniel Cameron has drawn his line in the sand and has essentially told every black person where he stands. Daniel Cameron is endorsed by Donald Trump, a man who has repeatedly shown this nation where he stands when it comes to black people. Trump has degraded former President Barack Obama, called countries in Africa sh**tholes and even called a grieving black woman a liar. The list of his insults toward black people is endless. Yet, this is the man whom Daniel Cameron stands with. Trump has even tweeted, “The Republican Party has a new STAR, his name is Daniel Cameron.” Trump can support Daniel Cameron because their beliefs are fundamentally the same. Daniel Cameron is called the protégé of Mitch McConnell, a man working overtime to destroy this nation. Still, Daniel Cameron stands with Mitch McConnell.

Cameron can't win a Republican presidential primary and Mitch's seat will be safe either way in 2026 so I don't really care about him.

No. He can't possibly be worse than McConnell in the Senate or worse than Trump if he somehow became president, so I don't see what's to fear.

No.

His ongoing failure in the response to the Breanna Taylor killing will haunt his political future.

If he becomes a Kentucky Senator, who cares? Can't be worse than any other GOP loon.

But he would never win significant black support to win the presidency.

Can Cameron even lose in 2023?

A KY Democrat would have to win rural and Black votes at the same time.

You think Cameron can be president despite the Breonna Taylor murder?

I think he loses in 2023.

Adam Edelen should beat him.

Pre GOP convention I thought he was a strong contender for higher office. Now? I don't think so. Damaged goods already.
