I'm very unsure about this. On the one hand, the treatment of the Uighurs by the Chinese government is absolutely horrific and would seem to justify independence. On the other, the situation is reminiscent of  Chechnya in that the main group advocating for independence, the Turkistan Islamic Party, is an Islamist terrorist organization that would probably turn the country into an ISIS or Taliban like state upon independence.

I think that further federalism and a proper governance system is more needed in Xinjiang province.

No, I support more cultural autonomy and devolution of powers but the large Han population makes independence problematic.

Not if the independent country turns out to be a Saudi Arabia-type theocracy.

Well, if we can just speculate about the implausible then I support liberal, pluralistic democracy in China.

In theory, I support the independence of East Turkestan, Tibet, and the rest of China coming under control of the ROC government. That said, none of these things are going to happen and we just have to hope that Taiwan manages to never get taken over by the PRC.

No. I support East Turkestan being liberated and restored to its rightful owner.

Haven't many of the Han residents left recently due to the repression?

This line of thinking is cultural imperialism.
