A very sudden and heartbreaking event, an incredibly bright man with enough energy and friendliness to fill a room who hadn't even made it into his 40s. He might not have had reach to all those in the Atlas community let alone the US however his journalism and activism have reached bounds few of us could ever achieve. RIP an absolute freedom fighter.

I really can't believe it. Completely stunned. I just listened to the new episode of his show uploaded 3 hours ago when I heard the news. So saddening and such a tremendous loss. May the impact of his work outlive him.

I listened to Michael's show from time to time and he was always insightful (even when I didn't agree with him on everything). Such a sudden and saddening lost right now. RIP.

Only started listening to his show in the past month or so, but I was very impressed with the very few shows I had seen. One of the very very few figures who seemed to be respected by every secrion of the online left.

Man, this guy was left of me for sure, but he was so insightful and above all, really, really funny. The Friday segments on MR with Andy Kindler make me cry laughing. The three of them clicked so well.

He’ll be sorely missed. RIP, FF

Just coming back for a second to say this is devastating. I watched his show regularly and had a lot of respect for the guy. I didn't agree with him on everything, but he always struck me as one of the brightest hopes for the burgeoning left-wing media ecosystem. His work covering workers' movements across the world will be sorely missed.
