Clinton in 2016 and Bidenin 2020, obviously for the general elections.

In the 2016 primary I supported Sanders for a short while and then ended up voting for Clinton.

In the 2020 primary I was all over the place in this order: O'Rourke, Harris, Buttigieg, Warren, Sanders, and then settling for Biden after Super Tuesday and eventually voting for him in the New Jersey primary.

Quite a few Clinton-Trump voters here surprisingly. I'm going to be a Trump-Trump voter myself simply because I see nothing in Biden whatsoever.

Just making sure I read it correctly there’s many people in your area who voted for Clinton and now back Trump? Where in Ohio do you live?
I meant in this board.

Quite a political evolution.

2016 - Austin Petersen -> Evan McMullin

2020 - Jason Kander -> Gravel -> Gillibrand -> Yang -> Voted for Gabbard -> Voting for Joe Biden.

I'm fascinated by your 2020 journey. Why did you support each candidate?

I'm fascinated by your 2020 journey. Why did you support each candidate?

Kander - Never ran, but learned of him through Atlas. Matched with him ideologically almost on every issue, saw him as a great future star of the party.

Gravel - Old, anti-war guy who Reddit likes running? Sounds cool.

Gillibrand - I get politically involved for the first time, and go with the Senator from my State, voted for her in 2018 as well.

Yang - Gillibrand drops out, Yang subreddit posts about how Yang had a similar family leave plan as Gillibrand. Listened to the JRE podcast, fell in love. Shift towards DemSoc.

Gabbard - I respected her integrity to fight against HRC's allegations, and Yang had already dropped out. I voted for Yang's delegates though.

Biden - A Biden presidency makes a "far-left" Democratic Party shift far more possible, and stops the suffering Trump has caused on so many.

Was too young to vote in 2016 but kinda sorta supported Trump even though I knew nothing about politics and I came from a slightly conservative family. So basically...

General: Trump 16 -> Trump 20

2020 Primaries: Trump -> Yang -> Trump

Democrats have become unhinged since 2016, and I like Clinton more than Biden.

Do you mean Biden specifically, or how you see the Democratic party in general? (In terms of perhaps AOC, Omar, etc.)

If you're voting for Trump because you see the party being more radical but don't necessarily see Biden that way (which, not sure how you would see Biden that way...he's quite moderate), then that's pretty silly to hold Biden responsible for other elements of the party that you find "unhinged."

Your're probably the first person I've ever seen anywhere who says that they prefer Hillary Clinton to Joe Biden.

But at any rate, I voted for McMullin in 2016, and I remember rooting for Sanders to win the primary over Clinton. This year, I oscillated during the primary, and at one point, leaned towards Klobuchar. In the general of course, I now support Biden.

I prefer Hillary Clinton to Joe Biden.

Policy wise their is really no different between Biden and Clinton, however imo Biden is a much better candidate than her.

He's certainly less polarizing.  I've just always admired her and think she'd do very well at actually being president.

I agree. If she was president COVID would not be as nearly as bad as it is now.

I've always liked Biden, too, don't get me wrong (even though I didn't vote for him in the primary when South Dakota rolled around even though Bernie had dropped out, it was more just to make a statement/fulfilling how I had earlier planned to vote, rather than any real ill-feeling towards Biden).

Oh, I wasn’t criticizing you or anything. Just say that in my opinion I don’t see much difference between the too and would be happy supporting either one.

2016: Bernie Sanders > Hillary Clinton
2020: All or the Democratic primary candidate except Tulsi Gabbard (who is a closeted Trump supporter) were great, but my support alternated between Bernie Sanders, Mike Bloomberg, Joe Biden, and Pete Buttigeig during the primary > Joe Biden
