The problem with succession by red States is the real division anymore isn't between red States and blue ones, but rather between rural / small town America versus its cities, with suburbs being the Battleground. Places like northern Maine, the Michigan u p, or rural California would be infinitely more open to seceding from a liberal dominated America than places like Dallas, Atlanta, or Nashville. There probably aren't half a dozen states where the overwhelming majority of its primary population Center wouldn't aggressively opposed secession, and that number drops even further when you factor in rural Southern blacks and Native Americans whom might be just a teensy-weensy adverse to the notion.

The premise of your question is so ridiculous that it isn't worthy of a response.

There's no reason for "red states" to succeed when the American system of government systematically overweights rural/conservative concerns.  If anything, its places like New York and California who would become increasingly disheartened with the American system were Trump to win a second term.

An attempt at California succession is far and away the most likely succession crisis to occur, but still not particularly likely in the short term.

Lol when have liberal states ever even considered seceding? It’s always crybaby conservatives that are talking about seceding whenever the government tells them that they can’t use “much religion” to discriminate against people, or whenever the government bans super lethal guns that clearly shouldn’t be accessible to an ordinary citizen because of “muh liberties!”
Hartford convention.

Great example, Jimrtex. Got any that are actually within the last 200 years? Roll Eyes

The Cascadia independence movement.

How about removing all statues of persons who have been dead for 200 years or more?

Topple the obelisk in Washington, and look forward to the 4th of July in 6 years!

This is a good point.  Any hypothetical future civil war would be nothing like the first one.  In general, the Northern farmers and Northern city-folk were united in their support for the Union and in the South the same was generally true.

With how trends are going, this would be good.  Hopefully peaceful, so we'd still have a decent north america.  I know I wouldn't fight in the military to keep states in the union.

In theory, i'm not against creating a Trump homeland Shangri-La encompassing parts of WV, SWVA and EKY.  Maybe put Snake Plissken in charge to make sure no one gets out everyone enjoys their stay.

Red states aren't going to succeed because, otherwise, they won't have blue states to pay their bills.

TX is turning blue due to fact Dallas, Houston and San Antonio  are international cities like SF, Miami, DC, NY, Chicago and LAX, so the economy is based on our airline business. During the Civil War days they didnt have airlines
