Nice to see but only a day of this poll includes Trump's Mount Rushmore Speech Bump. Be careful with this one.

The evidence remains strong that Trump is going to continue trailing by ~10 points or more nationally unless something drastically changes with the pandemic situation.

Correct me if I'm wrong but this is the same poll that had Trump leading most of 2016.

are you thinking of the LA Times tracking poll? I think MC had a slight Clinton lead most of 2016

I just looked at their 2016 last poll, should've been a warning sign for everyone - Clinton was only at 42% and 45% in both iterations

https://morningconsult.com/2016/11/06/final-2016-poll-morning-consult/

EDIT: although it does appear they did in fact have Trump leading right before the 1st debate

Trump is the greatest unifying president in history. He has managed to unite Neo Nazis, the Klan and white nationalists.

Just add cement mix and water, and wait for it to set.

The current Pandemic surge seems to not only be real, but big.
What a disaster it has become. So many could have been saved from sickness and death. It's not going to diminish anytime soon.
trump could have actually benefited if he took everything seriously from day 1. Just look at our neighbor to the north (Canada), and see how well they have handled this Crisis.

Yeah for a while I guess people were acting like this was just a classic Trump scandal that everyone would move on from in 1-2 weeks. But people are not going to forget that he's destroyed our economy and way of life and killed over 100,000 people.

Oh you ain't seen nothing yet. Wait until these schools re-open and kids start spreading Covid to one another, likely killing a significant number of children with underlying conditions. It's completely insane that this is even being considered, but once people start feeling those effects, Trump's re-election prospects will be over for good.

It's not just what has already happened, it's what is going to continue to happen over the next four months. Given the failure to properly suppress this thing the first time, the odds are high that, after the current wave finally peaks, we could easily plateau again and be seeing 30-40K new cases every day until the election. This thing is going to dominate the news and the concerns of the average voter in a way that no other issue has since probably at least the Vietnam War, or maybe even World War II.

In New Zealand, the Labour Party went from losing the election to getting a majority government in the polls because of Jacinda Ardern's amazing response to it that eliminated community transmission (though I don't think Labour would have actually lost regardless).
