Could Minnesota have the potential to flip blue this year? One reason why I think it has a a possibility is that it swung hard to the right outside of urban areas last year. I think it may be one of the most, if not the most polarized states in terms of urban-rural divide. idk is this a possibility?

With national/rust belt leads like Biden's, it's not especially likely. I rate it lean D and closer to likely D than tilt, but there's still potential for Minnesota to be a tipping point state this November and it probably deserves serious attention from the Trump campaign (more so than Michigan, which I would argue has slipped further than the rest of the rust belt because of Michigan-specific issues like the ventilator spat).

No, Trump is down to much in WI, PA, and MI to even be competitive in MN.

Considering that Minnesota went blue for the last 11 presidential elections, yes, it could go blue again.

I edited the question. I still get confused by the red/blue flip that this forum does for some weird reason.

It "could", but at this point it's pretty unlikely.

It can if Trump is having a much better than expected night (such as if he only narrowly loses or narrowly carries the popular vote), but the way things are going, Minnesota is at least likely Biden.

Absolutely not. Biden has a better shot at winning Montana, in my opinion, than Trump does of winning Minnesota. I always maintained that New Hampshire was the only conceivable state that Trump could flip pre-pandemic, and that appears totally out of reach now too, along with a good two or three states that he won in 2016.

Less likely than Iowa flipping Democratic.

No. Minnesota will continue to vote for the Democratic presidential nominee which it has done for the past 44 years...and counting.

Atlas Talk Elections red, yes.

But with mainstream media colors-it's not going to happen. It was probably never going to happen...at least not yet. The Democratic voting streak will continue.

I can't say for sure by how much though, other than being more than Clinton's margin.

At this rate, it won't happen this year. But 2024 is certainly possible if Republicans manage to keep their gains with rural voters while making up some lost ground in the Twin Cities suburbs.

Not with the way Trump has been turning off suburban voters (especially those with higher education).

Minnesota might vote to the right of the nation again, and in a neutral environment it could flip. Realistically though, this won't be a neutral environment and so Biden will win Minnesota.

Trump is going to get annihilated, Dems are going to complete the trifecta, and Queen Tina is going to win her first outright full term pretty comfortably.

I'd hope it goes for Trump in November. People are sick of the violence.

MN has the longest blue winning streak, it has gone blue since 1972, Biden will win MN, PA and MI at the very least.

Every other D state has voted in 1980 and 84 for Reagan. Even RI voted R in 1984

There's a small chance MN could go Trump this year but I think it will trend back a few points left of the nation. Trump probably needs a 2-3% popular vote victory to win MN.

If you want to go back to Pawlenty, he was a mainstream R like Ehlrich and Walker. Pawlenty was not gaffe prone Trump
