The senate definitely doesn’t look too great for Dems, going into 2006, even if they flip all the seats they did IOTL, that’s still a 50/50 split, so they’d probably have to pick up the seat in Tennessee as well, possible but definitely a tall order considering McCain is more popular than Bush.
Actually, its a 51-49 R split if the 2006 Senate elections in this timeline are the same as irl.

Since you had a Dem win TX-GOV 2006, and the incumbent Rep Senator simultaniously run for re-election and for President in 2008, that means they either lose the Presidency and their party loses the Senate in the event of a Senate tie, or they win the Presidency and Dems get an extra Senate seat from the appointment.

Why is MS not 3-1 D? In real life, Dems decisively won 3 of the 4 seats in the state in 2008.
