Hello friends , as you may know that in the state of New York we have been particularly hard hit economically by this pandemic, and while we do need to do all we can to make sure things don’t get worse we also need to start to talk about how we can rebuild our state economically to . In my opinion the best way we can do so is by incentiving corporations to hire New Yorkers all across our state . Now there are many different solutions that have been proposed but the best idea in my opinion is to create a tax credit which corporations can receive for hiring New Yorkers .
How this tax credit will work is first corporations must be required to hire at least 100 New Yorkers in the state with an salary of $40,000 a year so not only do people get hired but they can receive a livable wage as well . Second we will ask that 20 percent of all new jobs be of people outside the New York City metro area as we need to rebuild our state economically not just in the main metro area but every area in the state as well . Over the past few decades we have neglected these people and it is critical that we don’t anymore because every New Yorker no matter where they lives deserves a better economic future . How this tax credit would be calculated is simple , so first we will calculate a % Where you receive a subsequent percentage for each 100 New Yorkers you hire and by continuing to meet the 20% criteria and both criteria must be met for moving from say two to three percent . Then once that percentage is calculated we will multiply that by the corporation tax liability to calculate their tax credit .
While there are other solutions that could work to help us recover from this COVID recession such as tax cuts , or new spending my belief is we need to face this problem head on in order to solve it which is exactly what this credit does . Thank you for all coming here and have a nice rest of your day
