(Real emo of course.)

For once, I clicked on a BRTD thread and it actually was by BRTD. That doesn't happen as often these days.

I don't like the Hamilton we have now. Imagine referring to the College of New Jersey as Princeton.

Yes, mostly because emo girls are ridiculously hot and I like rock counter-culture in general.

I'm talking about real emo, although girls who like real emo tend to be hot too.

Ehh... I'm a lot less enthusiastic about "real" emo and "real" emo girls, but I might still watch it.

Imagine a Hamilton song in this style!

* TAKE THE PICTURE NOW by MINERAL*
Maybe if the quiet soft parts actually sounded quiet soft and the loud hard parts sounded loud hard. And if the writing was a little more inspired.

I would definitely like to see a rock / emo Hamilton that sounded something like this though, even if emo purists don't consider it "proper" emo:

I don't particularly want to watch regular Hamilton, making it emo would not make me want to watch it more.

Can't we just have a straightforward play about America's greatest hero without the unnecessary drama over choice of music genre?

I agree, which is why I’m getting started on my musical about GG Allin.

Emo is still a thing?

Anyway an emo musical already exists, or did exist: 'American Idiot' by Green Day. Maybe you should write one, BRTD. Broadway isn't as stingy as you might think there are 'King Kong' and 'Spongebob' musicals that happened, and don't make me remind everyone of 'Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.' Hell, I want a 'Blade Runner' musical. "More Human than Human" and "Tears in the Rain" are just begging to be a song title.

Green Day during American Idiot were rock mixed with pop punk that dressed and did make-up like a punk-emo mix. It's not emo at all, and I'm not even close to a purist like BRTD is. Not a bad album though, as far as rock /pop punk goes.

Uh, it's actually very popular now with the "emo revival" and all and bands like Tiny Moving Parts, Joyce Manor, The World is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid to Die, The Hotelier, Foxing, Mom Jeans, American Football is back and recording albums, not to mention MINERAL...it's like the most popular it's ever been.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emo_revival

And Green Day have never been emo.
