The Ethiopian government is also postponing the election under the guise of safety from COVID-19. Only a year previously it seemed like Ethiopia was on a correct path to become more democratic and end the repression by the ruling party with a new election, only for that to blow into smoke and dissipate into the wind.

Any more of this repression and the country could end up in another civil war.
