Adolf Hitler

With Adolf Hitler's entry into the Presidential race, it became imperative for him and the NDSAP to introduce their platform for the Presidency.

At a speech in Nuremberg, Hitler unveiled the first planks of his platform.

  • Repudiate the Versailles Treaty
  • Increase the size of the army to 500,000 men, and introduce conscription
  • Add twenty-four battleships, fourteen aircraft carriers, and one hundred seventy five submarines to the German Navy
  • Revive the German Air Force, with five hundred planes
  • Annex Austria, the Saarland, Alsace-Lorraine and Poland, preferably by diplomacy, but by force if necessary.
  • Establish a system of international alliances around the world to assist in the fight against Bolshevism. Special support should be given to Italy.
  • Nationalize all war-making industries
  • Spend heavily on public works to bring Germany out of the Great Depression.
Hitler also made a foray into foreign politics in his speech. Noting that Germany was not the only country holding an important election in 1932, as endorsed Herbert Hoover in the upcoming United States Presidential election, calling him "the only person who can keep America from falling into Bolshevism".While Hitler's viewpoints about various other ethnic groups are known to anyone who has read Mein Kampf, Hitler has largely made it a point so far to avoid mentioning his plans for such ethnic groups, only stating that "there is a time and a place for that discussion and this is not it."
[/list]

Meanwhile, elsewhere, Hitler repeated his offer of a propaganda position in a Nazi Government to Carl Schmitt, and also offered Herman Goering, a loyal member of the NDASP and former World War One flying ace, the position of the commander of a revived German Air Force.

Finally, Hitler instructed his Reichstag members to introduce a resolution calling on President von Hidenburg to retire.

Adolf Hitler

Speaking briefly in Munich, Hitler expressed disappointment in Professor Schmitt's decision to decline the propaganda position. Instead, Hitler has offered the Propaganda position to a fellow member of the NSDAP, Joseph Goebbels.

In a speech in Frankfurt, Hitler indicated that should he be elected President, his first choice for Chancellor would be Alfred Hugenberg.

The NDSAP will have 750 members of the SA on the streets of Berlin, targeting communists.

Hitler reportedly weighing sacking Ernst Rohm

According to insiders, Adolf Hitler is considering removing Ernst Rohm from his position as Commander of the SA, because of differences in political opinion.

Hitler likely will make no such moves until after the Presidential Election, however.

As for the other prominent Nazi who disagrees with Hitler politically, Gregor Strasser, Hitler has offered him the post of Vice Chancellor in a Government in which Hitler is President, and the condition that the Chancellor (who likely would be Hugenberg) cannot meet with a President Hitler without being in the presence of a Vice Chancellor Strasser.

Hitler has also called for a No-Confidence vote against Interior Minister Groener in the Reichstag.

Adolf Hitler

Hitler spends much of his time campaigning in  Northern Germany and Bavaria.

He calls for lifting the shackles of the Treaty of Versailles, achieving an Anchluss with Austria, wiping Poland off the map, and putting Germans back to work.

Hitler's top NDSAP Party members, Gregor Strasser and Hernan Goering are campaigning across Germany for him on a similar platform.

Hilter also left Germany briefly, hoping to get fellow fascist, and Dictator of Italy,  Benito Mussolini to back his campaign. The two met in Rome, at the end of February.

Hitler's response to Carl Schmitt

Hitler, campaigning in Muinch, responded to Carl Schmitt by saying he would "strongly consider" a Presidential Government should he win.

He also said that the proper solution to fighting was simply to outlaw the Communist Party, and imprison the members of said party.

He told voters there was a "place" in Germany for any German who was not a Communist, or other undesirable, though he did not clarify what he meant by undesirable.

Hitler

Hitler has instructed the SA to avoid street battles during the fortnight leading up the Presidency, with the exception of Berlin, where the SA will be attacking Communists with the assistance of Die Stalhelm as the opportunity arises.

Adolf Hitler

Hitler, speaking from Munich confirmed that he would continue on to the second round of the Presidential Campaign.

Hitler called on Herr Frank and President Hindenburg to suspend their campaigns, citing Frank's low support, and his strength among Hindenburg's supporters.

He then spent the rest of the month campaigning across Germany.

Herman Goering, Gregor Strasser and other top Nazis also campaigned across Germany, repeating a similar platform to the first round.

Hitler response to Hugenberg

Campaigning in Frankfurt, Adolf Hitler said in response to Alfred Hugenberg's comments that only a vote for President Hindenburg was a vote against socialism, by calling Hindenburg "senile" and saying that if Hugenberg wanted to do something about the issue, he should have run for President himself.

He called on Hugenberg to change his endorsement from Hindenburg to himself, citing his younger age, and relatively close alignment to Hugenberg's political views.

Adolf Hitler

Hitler spent the final days before the Presidential election campaigning in Northern and Western Germany.

His top members in NDSAP, Herman Goering and Gregor Strasser campaigned for him in East Prussia and Southern Germany.

All campaigning was done on the same platform that has been done to this point.

Adolf Hitler

Speaking in Munich, Adolf Hitler responded to the Alfred Hugenberg's accusation of his being a Bolshevik by saying that the only Bolshevik in the race was Thaalmann.

He also said that bringing Germany's former glory did not strictly require bringing back the Hozerhollen monarchy, just restoring Germany's reputation in the world, and that he was the best candidate to do that.

Adolf Hitler

Adolf Hitler, speaking in East Prussia, defended Gregor Strasser, pointing out that Thalmann was "more of a Bolshevik" and that Strasser would have little ability to affect the Government's policy in the Government Hitler was envisioning for Germany.

Adolf Hitler

While Adolf Hitler expressed disappointment in not being elected President or being named Chancellor, he sought to make lemons out of lemonade.

He sought a no-confidence vote against Chancellor Von Papen, and also began campaigning for the position of Chancellor in the future.

The NDSAP has sent the SA into the streets to fight the Red Front and cause general mayhem.

The plan is to force a no-confidence vote on Chancellor Von Papen by causing enough violence to make his position untenable.

Adolf Hitler

As much as sickens me to agree with a Communist, Herr Thalmann is right. If any loyalty oath is to be sworn to anyone in Germany, it should be to me. Since that is not happening, I cannot endorse Chancellor Von Papen's proposal. Once again, I call for a no-confidence vote in his administration.

Adolf Hitler on the failure of the no-confidence vote

So, the no confidence vote failed. However, this is not the end, not by any means. It is far from the end. In fact, it is only the beginning. Soon, a new era will dawn for the Reich. All this failed vote means, is that it will take longer for that new era to begin.

Adolf Hitler

Adolf Hitler temporarily sent the SA into mothballs.

He called for a no-confidence vote in Reichswehr Minster Groener, with the intention of convincing the Government to put NDSAP member Hermann Goering, a former WWI flying ace, in the position.

Adolf Hilter

Citing the Communist uprising in Kiel, Hitler sent 300 members of the SA to Kiel, with the intention of assisting the Reichswehr, and defeating the Communists.

Adolf Hitler

With the threat of a communist uprising in Kiel dealt with, the SA has again retreated into the shadows.

Hitler also spoke out on the Autobahn Act, originally proposed by the Social Democrats and now taken up by the Government. Citing the ability to move troops around, as well as the ability of public works to put Germany back to work, Hitler and NDSAP offer their support to the proposed Autobahn Act in the Reichstag.

Adolf Hitler

At a speech in Frankfurt, Hitler gave the NSDAP's backing to both police "reform" plans, saying that a national police department would help him when he became Chancellor.

Hitler

First, I must point out that war would come immediately should the Holzerhollen Monarchy be restored to Germany. While we may one day be able to beat France and Britain, this is not a war we can win right this minute, and as such, bringing back the monarchy would result in disaster.

Next, on the subject of Foreign Minister Mahuran attempting to give away German territory in the city of Danzig. This is affront to any German, and when I am Chancellor, I will reverse this and bring the City of Danzig back to Germany.

For this reason, I have called for a vote of no-confidence in Foreign Minister Mahuran.

While Adolf Hitler personally supports the Police reform bill, he recognizes the impact on the SA.

The NDSAP will be "voting their conscience" and will not have a unified party line in this vote.

While Hitler personally supports this plan as well, he understands the threat to the SA.

The NDSAP will abstain on this vote.
