They decided to run Joe Biden of Washington (Yes, Washington is the new name for the US I picked in this scenario) for the Capitalist Party and Xi Jinping of China for the Socialism Workers Party.

Putin running for a socialist party makes no sense because he is not a socialist.

Well, I need a party that leans Anti-West and a lot of countries that are anti-West are socialist or communist and Putin is likely the most powerful person in the world. I'll replace him with Jinping or something.

January 14th, 2020: Xi Jinping requests a recount. The recount was denied as Biden won by more than 3%. States of the former Americas and Europe were celebrating left, right and center while the states of the former east accepted the victory but was worried about what would happen under a Biden presidency.

January 20th, 2020: Biden is inaugurated as the first president of a united world. Millions gathered at the inauguration which took place in Adams. (Washington DC was renamed to Adams)

Biden would not be a candidate.

If there were a "capitalist party" (lol), someone like Angela Merkel would probably be a front runner.  Of course, there'd be a plethora of parties, and I doubt there would be 2 candidates who would emerge as front runners.  

Here are some possible presidential candidates/parties:

Communist: Who knows, but I'll give Xi to you
Progressive: Maybe Jacinda Ardern? Maybe you'd get a broad tent party fighting off challenges against people like Evo Morales in a primary. Joko Widodo is another possibility.
Liberal: Obama! He'd be a front runner world wide too. If he doesn't want to get back in to politics, then there's always Trudeau or Macron.
Conservative: Merkel would be the front runner here. Does Boris challenge her? This might be a big tent party like the Progressives, as you could have soft nationalists like Modi in this camp.
Nationalist: Trump or Putin, take your pick. Some others that could run include Netanyahu, Orban, Le Pen, Bolsonaro, Erdogan, etc. Does Duterte fit in this group?

My list is very Euro-centric of course. Quite possible someone from other parts of the world would run too.

I made it easy and just ran an American. I'll make sure a non-American wins the world presidency in the future.

Here's a rundown over the two main parties and some minor parties:

The Capitalist Party: This party won the 2020 election with about 47% of the vote. They have firm control in North America and Europe. This party supports left-wing social ideas and capitalist economics and also believe in having a strong influence worldwide. Scattered states in Asia and Africa also supported this party along with Australia and New Zealand.

The Socialism Workers Party: This is a party with largely socially conservative views and more socialist economics. This party is also against Western influence. This party dominated in the Middle East and most of the former Soviet states. China and some of Africa also supported this party and overall this party got about 39% of the vote. Some say this party starts as the early favorite for the 2025 election as COVID was thought to have helped the Capitalists.


Here are some minor parties:

The Independent Party: This party is under the impression that the Capitalists and the Socialism Workers need to work together and compromise rather than be at each other's throats. This party is also against nuclear weapons and this party got third place in the 2020 elections with about 7%.

The Free Palestine Party: This party states that Palestine should be it's own state and not under Israeli occupation. This party got about 32% in the Palestinian parts of Israel, 2nd place to the Socialism Workers party and also received some support in more Middle East countries and some Islamic pockets in other countries. This party got 4% roughly.

The other 3% came from parties that were really specific to their own state.
