Ned Lamont might not be a particularly popular governor if and when coronavirus approval bumps fade, but at the federal level, NJ is a better state to watch. Republicans have a deeper bench there, a lower chance of anti-Republican gerrymandering (CT Dems are less divided and could get partisan redistricting if they do well enough in the state legislature this year if I'm not mistaken), more appetising seats to target and defend and an outside shot at the Senate in a great year (simply not yet present without someone close to a Roy Moore-tier Democrat in CT).

I have a strong feeling that the next CT GOP and NJ GOP governor is the next Republican star.....along with Hogan and Baker, but the NJ GOP governor will be pro life!
