His opponent is leading in the two most populated counties of the district.

I'm guessing this was pretty unexpected. Is this just the case of earlier votes favoring Boebert or has Tipton become unpopular with Republican voters in CO-3?

WTF. At least with Lipinski, King and Engel, we knew they were in danger. But this is completely out of the blue. And Tipton is a pretty generic Republican who was endorsed by Trump.

I’m seeing that this race is a pickup opportunity for Dems if Tipton is not the nominee?

First Fitzpatrick, then Tipton

I get that Fitzpatrick is "moderate" but why is Tipton getting primaried.

I don't know the full story here. Tipton got a Trump endorsement but Boebert questioned his record and said he wasn't right-wing enough.

I guess Diane Mitsch Busch will become the Joe Cunningham/Kendra Horn of 2020.

Oh great another QANON nut.

I sure hope it's a wave election in Colorado and she loses,  even if it is a one term rental for Dems.

Redistricting could be a lifeline to new Democratic incumbents in Colorado. Not so for Kendra Horn.

Sad how the GOP is nominating crazy people, and it shows what the party has become.

Redistricting in Colorado is done by commission; there's not much chance of this seat being meaningfully altered after 2020.

Boebert's comments on QAnon amount to saying "I hope it's true" in an interview, which doesn't seem to mark her out as a believer or to even be an overly terrible or conspiratorial thing to say (compared to, say, Marjorie Greene writing extensive blog posts about the topic). I can't imagine you liking her if you're not a gun-rights person, but it really isn't like her positions on that are very far out from the American mainstream (and certainly not from the CO-3 mainstream).

CO-03: Likely R -> Tossup.

This seat is not ridiculously red like GA-14, and DMB is a very good candidate. She lost last time mainly because Tipton was noncontroversial and the DCCC didn't actually try to beat him. DMB has a huge cash edge, and if she does win, this district does have enough Democratic DNA in it left that she could do something interesting.

How did Boebert beat a Trump-endorsed incumbent?
