I think that belongs to the top. Poor Westley didn't take his divorce from Princess Buttercup too well. His eyes are clearly saying "please, put me out of my misery".

Most of these are due to the script giving them nothing to work with, even though they are clearly trying...

2019 - Dumbo - Colin Farrell
2019 - Long Shot - Seth Rogan (acting okay but film literally humiliates him)
2019 - Alita: Battle Angel - Mahershala Ali
2018 - Wekcome To Marwen - Steve Carell
2017 - Star Wars: The Last Jedi - Laura Dern
2017 - Justice League - Ben Affleck
2016 - Suicide Squad - Jared Leto
2016 - Rogue One: A Star Wars Story - Felicity Jones (unpopular opinion)
2016 - Zoolander 2 - Will Ferrell
2015 - Fant4stic - Toby Kebbell
2015 - Jupiter Ascending - Eddie Redmayne

Considering it might have cost him an Oscar, Eddie Murphy in Norbit has gotta be up there

Will Arnett- 'Show Dogs.'
Christian Bale- the Nolan Batman films (yeah, I said it!).
Jason Bateman- 'How Can I Tell if I'm Really in Love?' If that doesn't count then: 'Teen Wolf 2.'
Halle Berry- 'Catwoman' and 'Swordfish.'
Adrien Brody- 'InAPPropriate Comedy.'
Pierce Brosnan- 'Mamma Mia.'
Richard Burton- 'The Exorcist II: The Heretic.'
Nicolas Cage- 'The Wicker Man' (this was the real start of his more status quo embarrassing role reputation).
Sean Connery- 'Zardoz.'
Brian Cox- 'Pixels.'
Daniel Craig- 'A Kid in King Arthur's Court.'
David Cross- The 'Alvin and the Chipmunks' movies.
Peter Fonda- 'Thomas and the Magic Railroad.'
Whoopi Goldberg- 'Theodore Rex.'
Robert De Niro- 'Rocky and Bullwinkle' (though there are too many other examples, this one is the most egregious).
Benicio Del Toro- 'Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi.'
Faye Dunaway- 'The Bye Bye Man.'
Joel Edgerton- 'Bright.'
Everybody involved with 'Batman and Robin.'
Everybody involved with 'Movie 43.'
Everybody involved with 'The Oogieloves.'
Everybody involved with the 'Super Mario' movie.
Michael Fassbender- 'Assassin's Creed.'
Will Forte- 'Scoob!'
Jamie Foxx- 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2.'
Jennifer Garner- 'Elektra' and 'Nine Lives.'
Tom Hardy- 'Venom.'
Anne Hathaway- 'Serenity.'
Holly Hunter- 'Batman Versus Superman: Dawn of Bulls*** Justice.'
Jeremy Irons- 'Dungeons and Dragons.'
Dakota Johnson- The 'Fifty Shades of Grey' movies.
Raul Julia- 'Street Fighter' (it was also infamously his last film).
Nicole Kidman- 'Aquaman.'
Christopher Lee- 'The Howling 2.'
Ray Liotta- 'The Identical.'
Kyle MacLachlan- 'Showgirls.'
Roddy McDowell- 'Laserblast' and 'Shakma.'
Carrie-Anne Moss- 'The Bye Bye Man.'
Bill Murray- The 'Garfield' movies.
Liam Neeson- 'Taken 2,' 'Taken 3,' and most 'Taken' rip-off action movies he starred in too.
Edward Norton- 'Sausage Party.'
Gary Oldman- 'Lost in Space' and 'The Fifth Element.'
Clive Owen- 'Valerian and the City of A Thousand Sidequests Planets.'
Al Pacino- 'Jack and Jill.'
Joe Pantoliano- 'Robot in the Family.'
Aubrey Plaza- 'Dirty Grandpa' and 'Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates.'
Natalie Portman- The 'Star Wars' prequels.
Dennis Quaid- 'The Intruder.'
Eddie Redmayne- 'Jupiter Ascending.'
Christopher Reeve- 'Superman IV: The Quest for Peace.'
Denise Richards- 'Tammy and the T-Rex.'
Tim Roth- 'United Passions.'
John Travolta- 'The Fanatic' (I actually think he was decent in 'Gotti').
Jon Voight- Too many too name, but 'Anaconda' and 'Karate Dog' come to mind first.
Naomi Watts- The 'Divergent' movies.
Adam West- 'Zombie Nightmare.'
Forest Whitaker- 'Battlefield Earth' and, begrudgingly, I'll add 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' also.

Needless to say, I had a lot of fun with this topic. I have seen an embarrassing amount of embarrassing movies. Hell, I'll probably end up thinking of more later.

The Adventures of Pluto Nash was reportedly god-awful, but at least an "honor" equal for Eddie Murphy, and arguably a joint award for Dudley Moore, was a mid eighties Bomb called best defense. The two stars I don't think ever shared a single scene together because, reasons. I remember seeing Murphy on The Tonight Show a year or two later where he out and out said, and I quote, the movie sucked.

I could easily imagine someone else resorting to truly desperate measures.

"Sorry, mom, I can't do the dishes today. I have to find some guy who'll pay enough for a handjob behind a dumpster in a dark alley, so I can buy some prime quality crack and rewatch Cary Ewles as Bobby Wobbly while high as f**k."

Two hours later.

"It was worth it!"

Oh s***! Someone beat me to bringing up one of my favorite bats*** crazy kids movies. That's a movie where everybody in it from Cary Elwes to Christopher Lloyd to Cloris Leachman to (MY FAVORITE!) Chaz Palmenteri were in a humiliating role.

Yes, I recommend for everyone to watch it. You don't even need drugs for it. It's already surreal and trippy enough.

John Travolta- 'The Fanatic' (I actually think he was decent in 'Gotti').
Forest Whitaker- 'Battlefield Earth' and, begrudgingly, I'll add 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' also.

Just out of curiosity, why did John Travolta's performance in "Battlefield Earth" not rank at the bottom of his list of roles?

Because he was taking it seriously the entire time and even bankrolled the movie, which is what the topic was about...but yeah, just 'cuz he enjoyed it doesn't mean everyone else did.

That's Patrick Stewart, AKA Captain Picard, completely humiliating himself.

Don't you DARE talk smack about the single greatest cinematic masterpiece that God has ever created. Sir Patrick Stewart should be proud of gaining the honor to be in that film. I'd kill a man to be an extra in that work of art. In fact, I'm naming my firstborn child "😂💯👌🍆" in honor of this beautiful part of the history of motion pictures. And yes, I am going to make sure to time the conception to make sure my partner gives birth to 😂💯👌🍆 on July 28, the day that this movie came out on. God bless The Emoji Movie.

Jack Nicholson, Hoffa (1992)

One reviewer said Nicholson as a chunky boss missed the mark, and after seeing him in Cuckoo's Nest (1975) and The Shining (1980), I am inclined to agree.
