I don’t think it will be a Trump that steals the election directly, but Republican officials across the country. The postmaster general will continue to slow the mail down to where it will take 3 1/2 weeks for an absentee ballot to get to your home from the clerk’s office. Due to “printing issues,” the ballots will be mailed out two days before the election, ensuring barely anyone gets them.

Trump will then send troops to the polling places to scare voters and arrest Biden voters to stop them from voting. By November, the Coronavirus will have spiraled out of control and most people will be too scared to go to the polls even without federal goons there to intimidate them. Trump wins a “landslide” with 14% turnout and Republicans now have huge majorities in both houses of Congress.

There isn't much absurd or ignorant about this, the concerns about Republican voter suppression as well deploying federal troops are well justified. In just the past 2 years, we've seen voter suppression in the Georgia gubernatorial election in 2018 and now we have DHS officers being sent as federal police to Democratic-run cities across the nation to control peaceful protestors. While I don't think Trump will actually rig the election, these concerns aren't unfounded, especially since we are talking about a man who has sought the help of multiple foreign nations in interfering in our elections.

The highlighted part is the ignorant part.

Go back to ignorantly yelling Marxist 40 times a day.

The rioters are Marxists (at least from a cultural point of view).

Hot take:Pelosi should refuse to seat Greene.

Pelosi should refuse to seat all Republicans elected and reelected.

Schumer should do the same if Democrats win the majority in the Senate.

You beat me to writing precisely that. Even if I die protecting my family, at least I'm sending a half dozen or so to their doom. People who don't respect property forfeit their right to life.

No. No. No. No. No.
This is absolutely, totally wrong and I will not apologize for saying this.
I'm sorry, but your life ends the moment you set fire to my house and threaten the life of my family. This is called self-defense. It's not exactly a new concept.

The castle doctrine doesn’t exist in Europe which is why there is such a difference on what is considered self defense between Americans and Europeans

And look what happened circa 1932-1945.....

I’m not saying your wrong , and I support the doctrine but you have to understand why their perspective is different and on the same matter they should do the same when it comes to Americans view on this issue

This is why the standard for a cop accused of murder should be guilty until proven innocent and not the other way around.

It should be guilty period.

Skip the trial, lock them up and throw away the key.

For Trump: as there are likely to be female TV production staff present, for once please restrain yourself and don't sexually assault them. Or at least not on camera. Doing so could potentially result in a 1% drop of support among your base.

For Biden: be prepared to call 911 when Trump began sexually assaulting a female production staffer.

The only absurd/ignorant part of that post is that Trump will sexually assault a production staffer/moderator on camera. Every thing else is accurate.

The 1% part is absurd too

This still doesn't explain why flyover country WWC people deserve a tax cut.

I mean of course, I would support my own interests. Quite frankly, I also never get this sympathy for these rural racists in Appalachia, I never understood why we must pander to them? Maybe I'm missing something here, but I don't think I am.

So we should be subsidizing WV racists?Huh?

We get it, you hate white people and you hate poor people.

I mean honestly WV is just full of rural, racist hicks who can't tolerate Democrats because Democrats want to do something about climate change and don't play white resentment politics. The old Dixiecrats couldn't bear to see their beloved party actually decide to support minorities. Also let's be honest, if WV voted Democrat, Republicans would say the exact same thing about how awful it is.

First of all , WV swung Democratic from 1960 to 1988 when the rest of the south swung massively Republican so it is not a Dixiecrat state. Furthermore, George Wallace did worse in West Virginia than he did nationally while in every other southern state it was the complete opposite so again your point is false(Also George Wallace did better in Fairfax County than he did in West Virginia as well).

The reason it changed has to do with two issues and that is the democrats have become anti coal which is exactly when they started to trend hard against the Democrats and they are very pro gun too and guns becoming a partisan issue made them trend hard against the Democrats as well.

Yes you are right about that : http://freerepublic.com/focus/news/948436/posts

Republicans did trash WV and say terrible things about them but that doesnt mean these people weren't hacks(im sure most of these people think think WV is great today).

Oh and Democrats back then said one of the reason West Virginia was good was its not Virginia: https://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=105x1103580

There's a massive difference between "stop subsidizing a dying industry like coal" and "let those racist hicks die".

Fair, but I am bothered by this obsession by some people that the blue states should be forced to bail out places like WV, they should raise their taxes, if they can't pay for stuff, they sure shouldn't ask for tax cuts.

Lmao it’s not bailing out at all . The SALT deduction is the federal government subsidizing high tax states and no reducing it doesn’t benefit WWC over affluent states .

Oregon was far worse hit by the limitation of the deduction than Washington despite being more WWC and less affluent

This assumes things happen in a vacuum but they don't. The tax scam was a giveaway to flyover country, I don't see how you can see it any other way

Like i said Jack Kemp proposed eliminating SALT back in 1985 so this wasn’t a new thing(jack kemp represented New York too)

dude even icespear was not this unironic about the WV stuff

IceSpear understood what a lot of people don't and that's that there isn't this secret group of left wing populists in Appalachia, it's full of racists, who'd want nothing more than minorities, like me, to fail in life. Forgive me, if I don't exactly hold favorable views of them.

Lmao , West Virginia literally voted for George Wallace at less numbers than the country did as a whole, oh and less than Fairfax county did.

As for the Southern Strategy , West Virginia literally swung Democratic from 1960-1988 while the rest of the South swung massively Republican in that same time period. Also in 1994 again when the South went heavily towards the GOP , Appalchia still voted for the Democrats. Douglas Wilder won many Appalchinan counties in 1989 so again what your saying is false.

They have swung Republican for two major reasons and that is Coal and Guns and the Democrats becoming more and more against those two things made them go more and more republican over the years.

If race has no part in it then explain why Obama did so much worse than Kerry despite improving literally everywhere except Appalachia.

I didnt say it had no part, I said its not the major reason why and he didnt do much worse than Kerry, he just did 0.24 points worse. Obama during the 2008 cycle had said many things like bitterly cling on the guns which is very unpopular there as West Virginia is very pro guns and pro coal and the trend what took place in 2008 was almost identical to the trend that took place in 2000.

Again George Wallace performing better nationally Nationally and in places like Fairfax county than West Virginia show it is not a Dixiecrat state . Also West Virginia literally swung left from 1960 to 1988 while the rest of the south swung right.

West Virginia's voting patterns are not like the south at all, its just a state that is very pro gun and very pro coal and those becoming wedge issues in the 90s and 00s is why the state swung so much to the Republicans

If Trump wants to win, he has to run a '97 Tory-like campaign

Tie Biden to Old Labour (AOC, Sanders)

A New Labour, New Danger type campaign

I think Trump will concede. If I was him, and what he would do if he didn't want to concede, would be to hold rallies claiming himself as the legitimate leader, calling any Republican who disagreed "traitors" and calling on his supporters to rally against anyone supporting validity of mail-in votes.

For the same reason some Jews voted for Hitler (it's true, look it up).

For the same reason some ethnic Albanians supported Slobodan Miloscevic.

And the same reason there were blacks who supported the Confederacy.

There will always be House Slaves and Uncle Toms.

Please take your sinophobic warmongering elsewhere thx

It might not be the wisest strategy and it's inconsistent with some of OSR's other FP stances, but it's not Sinophobic to want to refrain from trading with a country running Uighur camps.
Those camps are as real as Saddam's WMDs.

LOL "evil". There were zero homeless people in Soviet Russia, while people were dying on the streets in Reagan's America, Thatcher's UK, and eventually Yeltsin's Russia.

The Asylum’s namesake clearly doesn’t want the thread to be renamed.

Moderate Republican from the Midwest with blue collar AND suburban appeal? Yeah he easily destroys Bernie. The swings among suburbs and college whites Hillary got against Trump don’t happen. Rural and WWC trends continue sharply against the Dems. Minorities, who were never enthusiastic about Bernie, swing away from the Dems and have low turnout. Kasich successfully paints Sanders as a radical socialist; Sanders embraces this image, repeatedly doing things like his infamous 60 Minutes interview doubling down on his Castro praise. The result is electoral disaster, with Kasich winning every state it’s remotely possible for Republicans to win.

Imagine thinking a Republican would win Virginia or Oregon, lol.

2016 Virginia was not 2020 Virginia yet , it only voted 3 points more democratic than the nation and that was with Hillary Clinton on top of the ticket , a Virginian as a running mate and someone a bad fit as Trump being the republican nominee .

Kasich would absolutely beat Bernie in Virginia

Abolishment of the nucleur family? That's insanem Now I can see why their support will drop continuosly.
I would agree with them.
If anything, kids from a young age should be sent to a large centralized childcare center where large groups of children are provided for and later educated.

This would reduce inequality of opportunity to near zero, and would allow us to teach every child important values that many are missing today.
