Having offspring who settled in the US - something Krushchev and Stalin had in common.

Having offspring who settled in the US - something Krushchev and Stalin had in common.
It's quite the indictment of your system when the children of your leaders chose to immigrate to your ideological enemy.

"In July of 1999, the Washington Post reported that the younger Khruschev became a United States citizen in a ceremony Providence, “`I'm feeling like a newborn. It's the beginning of a new life,’’ the 64-year-old Sergei Khrushchev said Monday after taking the oath of citizenship inside a Roman Catholic school auditorium."

To be fair, he moved to the US in 1991.

Wow. Sergei Khrushchev was one of the brightest ex-Soviet minds we got, and his loss will be sorely missed by space exploration enthusiasts all over the world.

Lots of descendants of Soviet leaders moved to the United States -- off the top of my head, Litvinov's grandson is a prominent American physicist, Joffe's daughter lived into the 21st century, and even Trotsky's great-granddaughter, Nora Volkow, is today Director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse.

Probably the most prominent of all of these people was Stalin's daughter, of course.

RIP.

Too bad his dad couldn't see him becoming a US citizen 40 years after he promised to Dick Nixon his grandchildren would be growing up under communism.
