He's a good looking guy, kind of reminds me of Aaron Schock with that famous men's health magazine cover, though he's not gay.

Aaron Schock wasn't gay...for a while.
Oh he was, he just came out of the closet recently.

The famous men's health magazine cover

This pic from 2010, look at the belt.

Beating Trump's pick? Impressive.

She was also the Meadows’ pick and they arranged his stepping down to set her up for the win.

And once again they underestimated the misogyny of Republican voters.
Yes it's clearly just misogyny and not plenty of other local factors such as madison having a much better campaign.

Wait....he's only TWENTY FOUR? Isn't there some kind of age limit in play?

That is like when Joe Biden got elected to the U.S. Senate in 1972 while he was only 29 and was going to turn 30 in November 1972 as we need to be at least 30 to enter the Senate.

I'm sure he's way to my right, but it's great to see younger people getting a little more representation in Congress. In a body of 435 members, there's gotta be room for some people in their 20s and 30s.

Yeah, just a coincidence that she is perhaps the only Trump-endorsed candidate to lose a primary this cycle.

Umm that one like was of a video summary of the entire conspiracy lol. Are you suggesting that he liked it by happenstance? Or just liked the video editing or something hahaha?

C'mon Senator Meadows!

She isn't - see McMurty, amongst others.

Regardless, I'm sure you wouldn't argue Engel (if he happens to be the only losing Dem besides Lipinski) was defeated because of antisemitism.

The big picture is that Republican women are always disadvantaged when they run for safe Republican seats.
Also, McMurtry was running against an entrenched incumbent.

The new PPP poll of NC shows Dems stronger than usual in the Asheville media market (mostly this seat). Entirely possible he may not be a shoo-in if the Dem is competent.

I agree this trend exists, but think the margin of her defeat goes way beyond that here.

Denver Riggleman and Thomas Massie's opponent agree.

Idk, I've scrolled through things I didn't agree with before. Not impossible to imagine it's an accident or something? Is worrying though obviously.

He certainly helps dispute the notion that all young Republicans are dweebs, which applies to roughly 80% of those creatures in real life and ~98% on this blog.

The general is definitely no shoe-in, especially now with all of Buncombe County, where Asheville is located, in the district after the NC Supreme Court ordered redistricting.

The old district was Trump 62% Clinton 33% in 2016, while the 2020 version of NC-11 would have been Trump 56.1% Clinton 39.2% in 2016.

Certainly a victory for the ever-rising subgroup of wealthy real-estate investors in their early 20's.

Somehow, I don't see this guy being the Republican AOC & increasing GOP awareness among Zoomers.

When I read the thread title I expected him to be a year or two younger than AOC, but I didn't expect him to be that young!

I'm sure I'll end up disliking him as much as any other Republican, but I have to recognize the significance of a disabled man defeating the preferred candidate of the most ableist President in history. Good for you, Madison. I'm so sorry your parents named you that!

Great News, it’s great to know that we have a conservative and not a socialist holding the title of youngest representative
