If you are a staunch left-winger - yes. But - only in this case.

These results are terrible. Just awful. Victory of Torres, Bowman and Jones at the same time is just a big nightmare for all moderates in the Democratic Party.

And I'm not unhappy because of Diaz Sr. lost

Progressives are part of (but not all of) the Democratic Party, and are here to stay. Deal with it.

Moderates in Democratic party will meet the same fate as moderates in Republican party did. And eventually the need of strong third party (centrist) will become obvious. But that will not happen in this (up to 2030) decade. Though i hope to live long enough to see it....

Not all. But instead of, say, 25% in recent past, now they are about 75%. And these are very active  and loud 75%. 10 years from now they may become 95%, and you will point at a handful of pitiful "moderates" (in fact - standard liberals)  to prove, that Democratic party is a "party of big tent", when in fact "tents" of BOTH major parties shrink every year.

These are NOT moderates, but "standard liberals" to me... Moderates are people like Manchin and Sinema. Are they a majority of Democratic caucus?

I am a centrist. Slightly (but - not much) to the right on economy, slightly (but - not much) to the left on social issues. For me that's moderate enough.

Plenty of Democrats are center-left, far more than the number of center-right Republicans. I think that this country would be better off with four parties (far right, center-right, center-left, and far left), but for now we only have two, and one is much further from the center than the other. Those of us on the left have been shut out much more than those on the right, so we’re ready to take our piece of the pie. Moderates still definitely have a voice and will for some time to come. And that’s not even getting into the problematic nature of taking the “centrist” position on every issue. That’s another debate for another time.

There are issues where i don't take a "centrist position". But you are correct - it's another debate for another time. And your 4-party system would suit me far better then what i see, now..

And here I was pleased by the lack of negativity over a progressive candidate succeeding a moderate darling. Silly me.

But almost on cue Roll Eyes

And also on cue:

To paraphrase an old post from when Lipinski lost:

Moderate Democrats on this board: "The Progressive Movement needs to move past Bernie if they want any hope of growing their numbers. Running better & more appealing candidates would be a great start."

Moderate Democrats on this board after an appealing Progressive candidate wins: "Damn them for unseating a Moderate incumbent! Democrats are on a death march if they keep appeasing the Progressive Movement!"

He is. He's also a staunch advocate for charter schools.

Ideally someone like Isiah James would win, but I've never really been a fan of Bunkeddeko. Donor ties aside, he also hedged on supporting Medicare for All in his endorsement interview with the NYT. I trust Clarke much more to deliver a strong vision.

I don’t understand, why can’t they count the absentee ballots on the day too? In the UK postal votes are counted on the night.

I think some states (??) have suggested counting absentee ballots in the days leading up to the election in order to avoid this problem.

The Democratic leadership is getting a clean up from the state of New York since 2018.
I'd like to see if progressive democrats'll do the same in the Midwest, Arizona and the South.
