Competitive.
The question is ... How much time & money should Biden/Dems spend on the possibility of taking Texas? Fool's Gold? It's a hard decision.

Yay!  Trump will win by 5 on ED.  Dems shouldn’t waste resources here

Tons of competitive House races. They should get more focus than the presidential race here from DEMs.

Being excited about a poll showing Trump up 2 in Texas is new levels of delusion, lol

Yay!  Trump will win by 5 on ED.

Not if he loses nationally by 8-10.

Biden needs to invest money into turning out new or unregistered voters here more than anything else. Beto's PAC seems to be getting a good start. Will need to heavily phone bank in the last few weeks leading up to the registration deadline, and then again in the weeks leading up to November 3rd.

Texas polls have underestimated Democrats in the last two elections by an average of 3.5 points. I wouldn't be jumping for joy yet.

Texas alone could decide this election which is reason enough to contest. That isn't to say to bet everything on it, but a reasonable investment will force Trump to have to spend money to defend it along with Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

This a state that has been safe for Republicans for ages so Trump leading only by 2% is not good for him. It's pretty sad that you are saying "yay" to this poll.

Looking at the crosstabs - a lot of the undecided vote is in Democrats/Indies and in minorities, so when push comes to shove, Biden might be closer to tied here.

Democrats have under polled in almost every Texas race since 2016. Even the Governor's race in 2018, Valdez did three points better than the average.

I said yay because I had wanting some state polls. A D biased poll showing Trump up in Texas is fine.  Nothing to be mad or happy about

The Biden campaign would be wise to invest some resources in Texas because even if Trump wins by a small margin, Democrats could pick up some House seats or flip the Texas state house.

I'm guessing anywhere from Trump 51-48 to Trump 52-46 depending on how the race is looking on 11/3.

Sorry, I accidentally responded to the wrong person.  Someone above was mocking me for saying “Yay”, when they only had to do with the fact we finally got a state poll.  Once again, apologies.

That isn't how your post reads. You posted yay and then that Trump would win by 5 points. You mentioned nothing about wanting state polls.

for the last god damn time, PPP doesn't skew Dem. Their polls have largely been pretty accurate, and borne out with other polls. Just look at Iowa recently. Or their national poll that just came out that is LITERALLY on the same average as the other national polls right now

Beyond the organization who sponsored it, how exactly is this poll "d-biased"? The self reported 2016 vote is 50-41 Trump, which is almost identical to his actual performance.

PPP is the WORST POLLSTER.
If they can get Biden only to 46 % in Texas he is screwed. He won't win when Trump is at 48 %.

Senator elect Royce White has a nice ring to it. I hope he wins the primary instead of Hegar.

I’d rather they have not released this. Now the Safe R Texas morons will point to this and say “SEE?! Trump is winning here by 2 even despite trailing badly nationally! Dems shouldn’t waste money here!”

Tossup remains a tossup.
