There definitely were some of these in California, but what demographics would fit them well?

Someone who was very intensely feminist/very excited about the prospect of a female president in 2016 but had become less so by 2020

I suppose young Hispanic voters who in 2016 were kind of ambivalent but then shifted leftward under Trump and/or were impressed by Sanders's outreach to their community in 2020. Especially women, I think.

I know a few tbh. Mostly fellow Gen Z'ers and Millennials who moved leftward during the Trump presidency in reaction to his first term.

Not able to vote in US elections for obvious reasons, but this is me.

Someone broadly similar to me, but who hates Biden slightly more. Maybe a feminist who thinks the Tara Reid story is 100% true and voted in a state where it was just down to Biden and Bernie.

Me.  I moved to the left during the Trump administration, and I also always uniquely admired Hillary Clinton (still do).

Fixed cuz that don't make no damn sense. Also, one can still be excited for the prospect of a female president and still vote bernie.

Someone who preferred Bernie in 2016 but voted for Hillary since Bernie couldn't win the general election, and decided after 2016 that they had been wrong.

Someone who’d be called a social democrat in Europe who felt a personal admiration for Hillary Clinton (people are so obsessed with denigrating her they ignored the intense loyalty she inspired).

Half of AAD.

EDIT: To be less blunt, Hispanics were the most likely but you also had quite a few people blackpilled by Trump's election so turned into socialists.

Most of these voters are probably hispanic voters from the west. Hillary won California in 2016 and Bernie won in 2020. Those are the majority of the voters who went from Hillary to Bernie. Much more voters (mostly white voters) from the midwest went from Bernie 2016 to Biden 2020.

Me! Voted for Hillary in 2016 (and 2008) primary. Voted for Bernie in 2020 because it was a binary choice when Missouri voted and I felt as though Sanders was/is trying to make the Democratic Party more progressive (as it should be). The whole Buttigieg/Klobuchar dropping out at the same time and hurriedly endorsing Biden before Super Tuesday also seemed a little fishy to me. Not a BernieBro at all though and am happily supporting Joe Biden now (even have two bumper stickers for him on my car) because we simply cannot afford four more years of Dear Leader's chaotic and deplorable tactics.

A lot of LGBT voters, particularly gay men (Sanders won most lesbians and trans people in 2016 if I am remembering polling).

Or, as morgieb put it:

Someone who used to subscribe to the Bill Clinton model of governing, but turned against it in the aftermath of the 2016 election (I would fit this mold, although I didn't vote during the 2016 primary).

Again, there were a good amount of people who voted for Hillary in the Dem primary in 2016 and Bernie in 2020. Hillary won in IA, NV, & CA states that Bernie did not win in 2020.

Yes, exactly. There were even more Bernie-Biden Voters, many of which were from the midwest. Many of these people really did not like Clinton in 2016, and many of them did not vote in the general election, or voted for Trump. Many of these people voted for Biden in the primaries over Bernie in 2020.
