Apparently I forgot to pick the Penn State/Illinois game.

I'm taking Illinois.

I'm just now entering picks (it's been a busy week) and have a couple of questions:

Was this game ever on the list?  Nobody else has it.

No pick.

I just did every non-canceled game this weekend — if it's not on the list it's the only one.

I mean, I don't know ... both suck, haha.  However, I certainly wouldn't pick the Coachless Illini over PSU on the road.

Penn State had a horrendous start, but isn't a bad team and look to have turned the corner. Losing to Ohio State was expected, and in retrospect, losing to Indiana and Iowa wasn't that bad. I'd put Penn State in the middle of the Big Ten pack, and I'd put Illinois at the bottom only maybe ahead of Rutgers.

And they really did beat Indiana, much as I (and surely you!) hate to admit it. The call simply couldn't be overturned, and they had a 99.9% in-game win probability and a 95% post-game win probability (revenge for last year's 27% post-game probability in a game they stole from the Hoosiers). They also dominated Nebraska in a game they lost and even outgained Maryland. Just extremely poor luck.

I have always dreamed about championship weekend pairings across divisions for entire conferences. Shame COVID is killing it but I hope the Big Ten and others keep this under consideration going forward. An even better reward than most bowl games.

Everyone deserves to have a "Best 7th place game I've ever been a part of"

There's no doubt that Nebraska-Rutgers is the game the nation's been waiting for.

My hometown seems hyped. Finally a chance to prove that Jersey Fresh isn't just a marketing slogan to make people forget about our polluting factories. Our agricultural output can go toe-to-toe with even the best.

The Nebraska-Rutgers game isn't actually in the list, although you weren't the only one to pick it. Wink

FYI, my plan is for us to play all the bowl games after Christmas, which gives us 6 days to pick as normal. (Also gives us 26 games, pending cancellation, most matchups wont be decided until Selection Sunday)

I'm not thrilled with that idea.

Picking the bowls is hard, as a lot of teams just don't care.

On top of that, several teams have already stated they won't accept a bowl invitation due to the pandemic.

So you want us to just pick....the playoff games? That's kind of boring. Given there are no restrictions on who can play this year, there are plenty of teams willing to play.

I'm less than thrilled with the bowls being put up, but far be it from me to try to stop you if that's what you want to do.

I posted in the original rules when this started that we would play the bowl games though, plus we played them in previous years as well, just picking the playoff is boring. We know Alabama will roll over the competition.

That's why I'm not putting up more of a fuss.

Besides, we don't know that Alabama will win the National Championship.

Clemson's had their number the past couple of years...

Not on the list, but the Sun Belt Championship game was canceled because of positive tests from Coastal Carolina.
