Probably just being on the safe side. With what’s happening in other districts voters are probably engaged and she’s smart enough to know a good chunk of the Democratic base doesn’t like her. She still ought to win by 20%+ but I do wonder how a better organised challenger would have done.

True, but one ad doesn't hurt, out of abandance of caution. Presumably she has still loads of funds to give her allies.

The district is being flooded with tons of anti-AOC ads right now (source: live in NYC, watch tv, have heard same from friends). This is smart and precautionary.
