Sanders would have done worse.

Given Putin might well have been supporting Trump as far back as the primaries, I suspect Trump would still be the nominee.

It just might take longer for him to get there (maybe all the way to the convention) and he might not get to choose his own running mate as a result.

Trump didn’t win the GOP primary mainly on trade, rather immigration and general racism.
