Joe Biden selects Elizabeth Warren as his running mate in 2020. The ticket wins.

Biden retires after one term. Warren wins the Democratic nomination without serious opposition.

On the Republican side, Marco Rubio wins the Republican nomination after winning in New Hampshire, Nevada, Florida and most states on Super Tuesday.

He selects fellow Senator Tim Scott as his running mate.

Which ticket wins?

This would be very close. I think it would depend on how the last four years would have been under President Biden and VP Warren. If the country is doing very well (ex. economy) and if their presidency got a lot done, Warren would win. Otherwise, it could go either way. It'd also depend on the Republican party and how they "change" after Trump. if they moderate or are willing to work with/compromise with Democrats, Rubio/Scott actually might win in 2024.

The map begins to somewhat return to pre-2016.

Marco Rubio/Tim Scott: 277 electoral votes and 50% of the popular vote
Elizabeth Warren/Robin Kelly: 261 electoral votes and 49% of the popular vote

Warren is one of the weakest VP nominees Joe could pick.  Rubio/Scott is an above average ticket.
