Schumer isn't great for obvious reasons. Durbin seems too much of a Mr. nice guy. Murray seems like she might be too unpopular. Leahy dosn't seem like he wants the role. Most "rising stars" don't have the experience because they haven't been in public office for long enough.

Schumer and Durbin are great for the Senate due to their work on the Judiciary Committee and Biden served on there as well. A Biden, Warren, Pelosi, Schumer 53 or more Senate will pass DC statehood,  immigration reform, campaign finance reform,  rescind Trump tax cuts in favor of more UBI benefits,  increase cap on SSI, and minimum wage.  All programs Obama wanted but Boehner and McConnell blocked him

It will be Schumer.

Durbin could be better. Murray would be better and is also well-positioned to challenge/succeed Schumer. My personal preference would be Warren, but realistically, a good dark horse in the next few years (in which Warren will still be too ideologically isolated from the majority of the Senate caucus to be picked) is Jon Tester.

Schumer likely will remain party leader in the Senate, unless for some reason the Democrats actually lose seats in 2020.

If he isn't leader...Elizabeth Warren would make a great Majority/Minority Leader, but I'd like the next floor leader for Democrats to be a few years younger.

Maybe Kamala Harris or Kirsten Gillibrand?

Probably not younger than Schumer, given the average age of a US Senator and the way seniority works. That said, here's the list of three-term+ incumbents (post-2020) who would be younger than 70 in January, 2021 (ages given at start of new Senate term):

Maria Cantwell, 62, currently in 4th term
Bob Menendez (lol), 67, currently in 3rd term
Amy Klobuchar, 60, currently in 3rd term
Jon Tester, 64, currently in 3rd term
Sherrod Brown, 68, currently in 3rd term
Bob Casey, 60, currently in 3rd term
Sheldon Whitehouse, 65, currently in 3rd term
Jeff Merkley, 64, would be in 3rd term
Mark Warner, 66, would be in 3rd term
Michael Bennet, 56, currently in 3rd term but 1st term was not full
Kirsten Gillibrand, 54, currently in 3rd term but 1st term was not full
Chris Coons, 57, would be in 3rd term but 1st term was not full

I'd be willing to back Gillibrand as Majority Leader.

Brown and Tester would be good, but there's a good chance they aren't around after 2024

I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t be Schumer.

I personally don’t really care who it is. I defintely don’t want to see Sanders or Warren in the position.

What exactly is the problem people have with Schumer? He seems to be doing a good job so far, and I think he’d do good as Majority Leader
