Thoughts? I think Pence would be open to ridicule then if he could not save his own home state this election.

Pence's campaign would be DOA irrespective of whether he'd hailed from IN or not because Indiana is a titanium R state and to lose it means a catastrophe of Roy Moore proportions must have happened somewhere along the way. To run on a ticket with Trump when he'd brought this catastrophe into reality would be cast by Pence's opponents as a critical error of judgement.

Think Pence will struggle in 2024 if Trump loses this year regardless of if it's a landslide or not. The party will be divided between the Trump loyalists who will I think want someone named Trump not Pence and the Anti-Trumpers who will want someone completely untouched by the Trump brand.

No matter how much Trump loses by, Pence would be badly hurt. No losing GOP VP nominee (even if they were previously elected vp) has ever won the presidency or the nomination

Also, GOP buries their candidates after their loses which is why you don’t really see anyone calling themselves a McCain, Romney or Dole loyalist
