I'm not even sure if Ojeda is actually trying to win, very low energy campaign compared to what we saw in 2017/2018, but he might still be able to win off of name rec. I picked Swearengin in the poll since it seems like she's running an actual campaign.

Rooting for Isaac Sponaugle in AG primary. He represents a seat that even Joe Manchin lost in 2018 by 15 points. I think he can beat Morrisey

Rooting for Paula Jean just for the lols

I’m pretty pumped at the numbers for Paula J. Swearengin.

Probably Swearengin now. Ojeda would've been preferable to me but he really blew it.

Yeah when he was actually trying to campaign Ojeda seemed to think he was running in a primary during the mid-90s or something. His entire base left the party years ago.

Yes I'm not sure why people thought he was a shoo-in.

I can understand why he wouldn’t want to go for the Governor’s mansion, but in that case he really should have contested his old state senate seat (as his replacement didn’t choose to run there anyway).

Ojeda should leave electoral politics and seek professional help (serious post).

IIRC he hated his state Senate job and that's why he was running for president

WV is a hard state for Ds to win. Until reecntly, they had a voter regristration advanatge. They have one flank of the party there that are very conservative - religious -and somewhat racists Ds who are on the verge of leaving the party, and there also seems to be a goods chunk of pretty far-left socialists in the state

I think he would have beat Paula or Ojeda one on one.  I think Paula would have beat Ojeda one on one.

This seems doubtful. WV lists your hometown and home county on the ballot; Robb is a Kanawha resident and got most of his votes out of Kanawha. Ojeda came in second in almost every county Swearingen won, while Robb came in second in around half the counties Ojeda won (mostly smaller coalfields counties). He didn't seem to have the organization necessary to compete outside of places where he could benefit from some favorite son votes.
