As I've said before republicans like him for the same reason that Democrats like Amy McGrath or Wesley Clark.

Democrats like Amy McGrath?

I’m still tickled by that time during the 2018 primary when he sent out a mailer to GOP voters about defunding sanctuary cities, but apparently his campaign did no proofreading because it ended up saying “defend sanctuary cities.”

It’s honestly surprising he even won the primary after that goof.

He has some charisma. Also there's a professionalism about him that's missing among many Republicans (like Trump). But when he starts talking policies it's clear he's a Vukmir type hack. He didn't have to talk much substance in 2018 because Stabenow didn't realize he was a threat until very late, but if this race gets seriously competitive that will be exposed.

He messed up running for Senate again so soon when it was clear it wasn't going to give him decent odds. Two losses back-to-back would make him look like a perennial candidate if he tries to go for something like Governor in 2022

He's a good candidate. I agree he has not lived up to the hype yet but remember 2018 was a bad year for Rs overall .He has to win this year or I don't know if I see him winning ever. Maybe governor in 2022. Possible. I do think James is going to outperform Trump by 1 to 2 pts and I think he wins in a squeaker. My current prediction is Trump loses MI by 1 1.5% but it's not a final prediction and James wins by .5 to 1%.. i think James will outperform Trump in Oakland County. I could see a decent number of Biden James voters in Oakland because James is the type of Republican that is appealing to suburbanites : nice man, veteran,  good background and he has backed away from Trump a little. He has to get way more aggressive in attacking Peters.

Biden is gonna win MI by at least 6 pts, Dems are diverting resources from MI to ME and NC and MT and KS to firm up 51 seats

On Facebook there arent many ads to donate to Peter's, but ads to donate to Bullock, Cunningham and Bollier,  the 51 seat majority
