How badly will this affect Hickenlooper's campaign?

No. Safe D with or without Hickenlooper. The worst legal outcome is a small fine and that is not going to blow a D+15-20 lead.

Its bad news for Hickenlooper that this is coming out before the primary, but I doubt it has that much of an effect overall.

Romanoff’s chances in the primary went from 1% to 2%. Gardner’s still screwed either way.

This won't have much of an effect, but Durbin needs to challenge Schumer for the leadership position in the senate. Practically begging Hick to get in the race and pushing Jackson out in NC is just a joke.

Durbin might well be a better majority leader, but didn't have the political will to attempt a campaign to avoid being leapfrogged by Schumer before. I don't see why he'd be well-positioned to lead a revolt soon unless Senate Democrats significantly underperform House Democrats or the presidential ticket, and even then, I suspect it would take several cycles of failure.

Durbin is too much of a nice guy to be Democratic leader. He would have been perfect 50-60 years ago but in today's polarized environment Democrats are better off with someone as ruthless as Schumer.

Schumer neglected rural Democratic interests too much and that contributed to a political divide which has been especially damaging to Senate Dems. Perhaps Durbin isn't forceful enough, but the caucus could do better than its current Majority Leader (Patty Muray, perhaps?).

This would be damaging in a normal news cycle but it's absolutely getting drowned out by national stories and the protests in Denver. There just aren't enough college students in the state to push Romanoff over the finish line.

The polls are gonna tighten Likely D to Lean D, Hickenlooper will likely win by 4 pts and Kelly by 2.

https://edition.cnn.com/2020/06/04/politics/john-hickenlooper-ethics-hearing/

Quote
Colorado's Independent Ethics Commission ruled on Friday that former Gov. John Hickenlooper, who's running for Senate, twice violated ethics laws in 2018.

The commission was considering a complaint by a conservative group claiming that Hickenlooper violated the state's gift ban while he was governor. Hickenlooper had denied the charges.

The commission on Friday tossed out four of the six allegations against Hickenlooper, but found that he had violated the rules against accepting gifts when he accepted a flight and fancy dinners, the Denver Post reported.

The ruling comes the day after Hickenlooper was found in contempt for declining to appear at the ethics hearing and several weeks before he faces a June 30 Democratic primary against former Colorado House Speaker Andrew Romanoff. The winner will face Republican Sen. Cory Gardner in one of the most competitive elections of the year. In 2016, Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton beat Donald Trump in the state by 5 points.

Hickenlooper literally ignored the subpeona.

I'd have to say now that this race is Lean D with him, Likely D with Romanoff.

Bob Menendez was indicted and reprimanded for worse but, because it was a Dem wave year and he was running in a deep blue state, it didn't matter. Same thing is going to happen here. Dems and most independents despise the GOP and, if the alternative is boosting Gardner, the small slice of Dems who think about this for more than five seconds will swallow it and vote for Hick anyway.

Imagine if Hickenlooper had someone been presidential nominee frontrunner

My imagination isn't active enough for that.

If Romanoff wins the primary, he'd be a heavy favorite against Gardner as well.
