Fire Inc. - Nowhere Fast (for Streets of Fire, 1984)

I've had the chorus stuck in my head for the past two days.

It's just a Crush 40 kind of day.

Very fitting for a time like this.

Friday Night Funkin' - Satin Panties (2020)

This kind of slaps for a song about underpants.

Meat Loaf - Bat Out of Hell (album, 1977)

I am quite distraught regarding Jim Steinman's death.

Bonnie Tyler - If You Were A Woman (And I Was A Man) (1986)

Can't believe Desmond Child went from writing this to writing Dude (Looks Like A Lady) not even two years later.

Rob Fowler and Sharon Sexton - What Part of My Body Hurts The Most? (for Bat Out of Hell: The Musical, 2017)

Society if Jim Steinman was able to make the Bat Out of Hell III he envisioned (supposedly titled The Final At Bat and featuring this song):
The Monster is Loose was a fine album, but I do wish they'd dropped the pretense of being Bat III when it was clear that Steinman's plans for Bat III wouldn't be used.

Meat Loaf - Cry Over Me (2006)

Honestly, The Monster is Loose doesn't deserve nearly as much hate as it gets. Sure, it's only Bat Out of Hell III in name, but it's still a damn good album.

Another musical giant we lost in 2021.

Electric Light Orchestra - Mr. Blue Sky (1977)

Thinking about how this song and Crush 40 - Live and Learn (for Sonic Adventure 2, 2001) have the same BPM and trying to figure out a way to combine the two.

Scott Bakula - Fate's Wide Wheel (for Quantum Leap (Glitter Rock - Season 3, 1991), 1993)

This is making me want to rewatch this show and slip back into my fifteen-year-old self. I still need to do something to pay my respects to Dean Stockwell, anyhow.

Junko Noda - Ready! (Azure Blue World (for Emerald Coast) Vocal Mix, 1998/2005)

The instrumental, composed and arranged by Jun Senoue, was originally used in Sonic Adventure. I don't understand a word of Japanese, but this slaps.

To paraphrase Ted Cruz, we need a hundred more like Jim Steinman.

Tyce Green - Braver Than We Are (2016/2017)

I'm pretty sure the Meat Loaf version was the first English recording officially released, so its date of 2016 is what I used here for its primary date, and 2017 for its secondary date.
