Nothing is going to come out of this.

Why? Isn't stopping voter fraud important?

Nothing is going to come out of this.

The President knowingly trying to fraud the system is a problem. You cannot register to vote with an out of state address.

More proof that only Republicans commit voter fraud.

Yes. So is stopping an elected official using public money to bribe a foreign leader into doing him a campaign favor.

It's not illegal when Trump does it, though. The normal rules don't apply to him.

Given his current mental state, it might be tough to prove he knowingly did anything.

Trump really loves to project, doesn't he? Has anybody seen his birth certificate?

Also, unrelated side-note: this tweet's OP (Michael McDonald) was my Election Law professor last fall!

Yeah, because it's not about stopping voter fraud but stopping Democrats from voting.

The thing is, he's stuck legally. If he registers Mar-a-Lago as his address, he's violating the law because he already agreed Mar-a-Lago would not be his residence when he took over the property. If he registers the White House as his address, he's violating the law because that's obviously not in Florida.

To actually follow the law (I know, it's funny to think Trump would bother doing that), he'd have to either change Mar-a-Lago's registration from a private club to a residence (not sure about the feasibility of that), or re-register in DC or New York. Or I guess maybe buy some sh**tty condo or something in Florida and claim that's his residence.

Voter fraud is extremely rare, so cases of it warrant reporting.

Mr. Trump doesn't need to commit fraud. He is a fraud.

Weird thing is is that he committed this in September and he didn't announce his change of residency until November. Strange.

Honestly why would Trump want to be registered in Florida?

Sure it is a swing state but 1 vote is not really goint to matter that much? As much as everyone memes Florida is not going to be decided by literally a single vote.

Why not register in his house in New York like in 2016?

I think the idea is being "Florida Man" makes voters in FL like him more?
