There's still a lot we disagree on ideologically, but he seems to be learning the difference between passion and vitriol. While he's been fairly vehement and outspoken about his beliefs, they've usually been fueled by rational, original thought. It's not like James Monroe or MissScarlett regurgitating whatever BS they read on Twitter to the point where they trust their feeds' interpretations of things over actual primary sources.

His posts get lost through his temperament, but I'm glad he's here.

Lean HP, since he comes off as abrasive and overbearing to me, even though my interactions with him have been limited. I think he puts too much effort into his posts, particularly when he's trying to rebut other people's arguments. Some of his arguments don't make that much sense.

Seems to believe that anyone who disagrees with him must do so not because they're looking at it in some different way from him but instead because they're unaware of even the most surface level of knowledge, that only he, a wise genius gifted to us by God herself, could possibly understand. I get that Dunning-Kruger is an annoying internet cliche that gets thrown around constantly, but he really personifies it.

Arthur's leadership at the Battle of Missionary Ridge was incredible, Douglas was an as**ole who admonished General Wainwright for surrendering Corregidor even after he had run out of food, water, and ammunition. General Wainwright was the real hero of the Philippines not MacArthur.

The thing is I wouldn't have a problem with GeneralMacAngryf#ck so much if he didn't sound pissed off in 98% of his posts.  There are plenty of things to criticize about Bernie Sanders, Tara Reade, etc., and you can make those criticisms without being a sanctimonious prick, or stanning for your preferred candidate in threads (like the BLM protest thread) that have nothing to do with him.

I generally don't keep long-term posters on my iggy forever, so maybe when GMA tones things down a bit I'll take him off.  Until then I recommend therapy and Prozac.
