NY-16 - Eliot Engel caught on hot mic dismissing Floyd protests

Between this and progressives coalescing around Bowman, I'm starting to think Engel is in serious trouble. Engel's gotten a lot of flack for staying out of his district during the COVID crisis, and in my opinion Crowley's detachment from NY-14 was what sunk him rather than his ideology.

The fact that he said this about the George Floyd protests is even worse optics.

Elliot Engel is one of the better NYC Dems -- pro-Israel, good on Foreign Affairs (though awful on economics/social issues of course). Unfortunately, this recording is very bad for him -- he represents a district where many of the actual voters tend to be very woke.

Given their ongoing attempt to prove that voting can deliver real change, I hope we don't hear a peep from the usual DCCC suspects about how progressives (who are clearly just entitled S A N D E R S  S I B L I N G S) should step aside for this district's moderate electable hero. Hate Engel for putting Jews in this position. Fostering a relationship between black people and Jews, especially in New York where the history between the communities is delicate and sometimes unfourtunate, is one of the things I really want to see. This is just really damaging.
