This was taken May 29-30 so this is technically the first poll where the responders have the riots in mind.

Biden: 48%
Trump: 40%

Interesting, and YouGov has been bullish on Trump this cycle with Biden usually not exceeding 4-6.

SN will find a way to spin this in Trump's favor. Probably that Biden is doomed due to being #under50. Lmao.

According to one of the poll questions, a majority view the protests as violent riots. I expect that number to go even further up. But this is YouGov, after all.

But guys, the protests mean Trump is a lock for election! Unrest always helps a law-and-order incumbent - just ask Obama and HW Bush.

Last two YouGov polls

May 20-21 (Biden+4):

Biden-46
Trump-42

May 23-26 (Biden+3):
Biden-45
Trump-42

So according to this, Biden has expanded his lead since the protests began

I think the other poll questions are way more interesting. Trump is clearly in a bad position right now to anyone except the most delusional, this is just another to throw on the pile.

But ostensibly 52% of US adults think Trump is straight-up racist. Large majorities believe the police and criminal justice systems are biased against blacks. That all seems significant.

I'm a YouGov contributor myself (meaning I sit on my ass and do surveys), and yeah, they generally show especially favorable numbers for Trump and his policies, so this can only be good news. I feel like it's reflective of 65+ voters beginning to leave his camp.

But SN told me Biden's "aint Black" comment was suppose to dramatically hurt his numbers, not help him.

While it could be noise, this certainly isn't the result that people like SN were hoping to see.

Wait till the polls next week. They will be tighter. Full effects of the riots are not in the polls yet.

This is the same administration that had Mike Pence say that COVID 19 would be over by Memorial Day and we was gonna have a booming 3rd and 4th Quarter; nevertheless,  wont give another 1200 stimulus check for SSA recipients or extend unemployment benefits to workers past July 31st

Man, if the poll had Biden +1 or was tied, you'd take the poll as gold standard and how it proves a Trump landslide is inevitable. The fact is, Trump is polling poorly across the board and is in the weakest position for any incumbent since at least 1992, if not 1980. You can't declare a majority of polls an error because they show your guy losing. He's even doing poorly in the Firehouse polls, which are Republican polls.

We also don't know the full effect of the economic meltdown, something that will people's lives by a much larger extent than riots that will be over in a few short weeks.

Keep thinking that. HW and Carter both had lower approvals at this point. Trump's approval is about the same as Ws was in 04 at this point.

Yes, but Katrina happened after 2005 that's why Bush W lost Congress in 2006, the Pandemic is before the 2020 election.

Trump is gonna have to relent on passing another 1200 stimulus and extending unemployment benefits or he wont be reelected

The poll is actually damning of the police, race relations and Trumps media engagement.

Wait till the polls next week. They will be tighter. Full effects of the riots are not in the polls yet.

Im not buying this at all and if anything this poll suggest that things are only going to get worse for him. just Take a look at some of the these poll results

1. Do you think that the criminal justice system treats whites and blacks equally?

Treats whites better  62%
Treats whites and blacks equall 33%
Treats blacks better 6%

2. Do you think blacks and whites receive equal treatment from the police?

Yes 21%
No 67%
Not sure 12%

3. Do you think the deaths of African Americans during encounters with police in recent years are?

Isolated incidents 39%
Signs of a broader problem  61%

4. How important a factor do you think race was in the death of George Floyd?

Major factor 61%
Minor factor 13%
Not a factor 9%
Not sure  17%

5. What comes closer to your opinion?

The police officer is obviously guilty of a crime and, if anything, the authorities were too slow to
arrest him 77%

There has been a rush to judgment. There needs to be a more thorough investigation.23%

6. Do you think that President Trump is a racist?

Yes 52%
No 37%
Not sure 11%

Look lets not sugar coat this
Voter see both trump and the police who killed George Floyd as racist

To be honest with you Im actually shocked at just how negative these numbers are
I mean don't get me wrong I expected it to be bad for Trump but not this bad....
