The "Black Lives Matter/anti-police-brutality" protest crowd in Vienna has now surged to around 50.000 to 60.000 people:

Yet another casualty, as a young woman is in deep despair as a protester shot and killed her sister

https://nypost.com/2020/06/03/sister-of-iowa-woman-shot-dead-sobs-in-heartbreaking-video

Terrorism is defined by three elements:

1. Violence (or the threat of violence), and
2. against civilians, for
3. political reasons.

Call it what it is: This is domestic terrorism.

Anyone causing death and destruction right now is simply a terrorist.

I’m very disappointed with this nation.

Thank you for agreeing that the police are terrorists. They fit all three elements of your definition.

I thought black lives matter? Here we have an African American whose sister was shot and killed because of the protesters. Double standards....

Eh, police violence isn't "political".

How about when it comes from this guy:

Is he a terrorist?

I watch a lot of his videos and this is the first one I've seen where he's been emotional/pissed off the entire time. You can tell he's really upset by this.

Donald Trump has shown what he is. It begins with an F and ends in a T.

The craziness is strong here.

Surely you realize that Bexar County (San Antonio) is one of the strongest Democratic counties in America.

As I said about the ex cop getting killed, her life is worth 100% as much as Floyd's, there's no reason you should care less about her dying than Floyd. That's 17 deaths at these things in ten days. At least one other person will probably get killed tomorrow and every day this continues. The focus should be on deescalation right now and then resuming peaceful protests when order is restored. Floyd died and he is one guy. More people have died at the protests and communities are being completely destroyed with the arson and looting. The protests and worse than the thing they're protesting about at this point.

Trump claimed he would be the President that made America respected around the world. These massive international protests and U.S. embassies being attacked show he was delusional.

So the killing was staged to hurt Trump and the rioting is staged to help him? Guess I'm just not smart enough to understand all this 4D chess.

If I wanted to protest against you, the reader, would it be acceptable if I burn down your house?

I’m just wondering if you hold the same standards.

Exactly!

“I’m not carrying anything that says Black Lives Matter...I know I matter!” Got chills.

Kind of off topic, but when New York F***** Post publishes an article called "7 movies and documentaries about racism that you should watch now", you know that this murder (and the protests!) was straw that broke the camel's back and things are changing, for real.

I'm not so sure about that.  The Post is a tabloid.  They glob onto whatever is the hot-button issue and take full advantage.  Not sayong there's anything wrong with that, but I'd be skeptical that this is some major turn in their agenda.

Using tear gas to subdue protesters may help spread the coronavirus, experts warn

Quote
Spraying people with tear gas causes them to cough, shout and scream — and that will send infectious droplets from an infected person to others, said Dr. Peter Chin-Hong, a professor of medicine and an infectious diseases specialist at UC San Francisco.

Tear gas may cause people who are wearing masks to take them off, and prompt them to rub their eyes, nose and mouth, Chin-Hong said. Even worse, respiratory irritants inflame the inside of the nose and mouth and the lining of lung tissues, making the body more susceptible to infection, he said.

Chin-Hong was one of more than 1,000 people — among them infectious disease and public health experts — who have signed a petition asking local and state governments to stop using tear gas, smoke and other respiratory irritants that increase the risk for coronavirus transmission by inducing coughing. The petition was inspired by a group from the University of Washington, and Chin-Hong said he was contacted to edit the letter.

And if you leave them be they start singing en masse like in Washington, can these researchers just stfu and admit its political here?(FWIW I oppose the use of tear gas for the purposes of enforcing the curfew or lockdown, should only be used to protect certain areas from looters)

If they're concerned about coronavirus they can stay home like everybody else and like they were telling everyone to do up until a week ago.

I sort of agree, but at a certain point there's no winning here. It's either stay home and try not to spread the virus while tolerating rank systematic injustice or go out and use your First Amendment right (which quarantines can't legally overrule) but risk infection, or spreading the virus. At the very least, most protesters are still wearing masks though. They at least still have some self-awareness of the situation.

Meanwhile, the police using teargas really isn't always necessary. The riots have become significantly less violent over the past few days and protesters violating curfew really isn't worth this reaction in the instances where it happens.

So does screaming “Black Lives Matter!!!” with about a few hundred/thousands other people in one crowded gathering.

Crazy guy attacking a group putting up anti racism signs. Some people on twitter are saying he's a cop, not sure he's been positively identified.

Austin, Texas.

A Texas A&M student critically injured in Austin, Texas over the weekend as a result of "non-lethal" weapons deployed, who was not a target of Law Enforcement, but then additionally fired at individuals attempting to administer basic first aid to him.

Part of local protests are also enthused by a man killed in SE Austin in early April by local police departments in a City which has historically been extremely segregated, even compared to many other cities within Texas....

Neither a riot nor violent (yet) but I've been stuck outside my apartment building for almost an hour trying to deescalate a shouting match between 2 of my neighbors over this crap.
I see law school is finally paying off for ya.

Oregon Update:

Massive protests continued in Portland Oregon yesterday for most the day....

Overwhelmingly peaceful, with some relatively small clashes later at Night...

https://www.opb.org/news/article/protesters-march-george-floyd-portland-sixth-night/

https://www.oregonlive.com/portland/2020/06/portland-protests-continue-for-7th-night-in-response-to-death-of-george-floyd-live-updates.html

Happy Valley experienced its first protest to date within Oregon:

"Wednesday night at least a thousand protesters marched through the streets of Happy Valley from Clackamas High School to City Hall, led by Clackamas High alumna and Weber State sprinter Monnie Spears. Spears said before the rally that it was her first time organizing a protest."

St Helens--- (Columbia County--- hundreds protest).

"In St. Helens, a high school student organized a march where demonstrators shouted George Floyd’s name in unison. Hundreds of people then gathered outside the Columbia County Courthouse, the end point of the march."

https://www.thechronicleonline.com/news/update-st-helens-protest/article_3200ab30-a5a6-11ea-9ad3-b30052e7b74c.html

Apparently there was a recent protest in Burns, Oregon, which was not on my list of Cities where protests have popped up in Oregon, but it should be noted this is overwhelmingly Trump County down in SE Oregon!!!

Also, Oregon is lowering the flags to half-mast in memory of George Floyd:

https://www.opb.org/news/article/george-floyd-oregon-governor-flags-lowered-order/
Just watching on MSNBC (500) protesters marching through Grand Forks, North Dakota!!!

I would not be surprised to see this weekend experience larger and more coordinated protests throughout the state...

So this was before a NY Judge basically just suspended Habeus Corpus for protesters or after?
