George Voinovich served 2 terms as gov and was elected to the senate in 1998. How would he have done as 2000 GOP nominee? Discuss with maps.

He likely would have attracted conservative ire in the primary and maybe the general. My guess is a higher vote total for Pat Buchanan, who peels off some right-wingers. That said, Voinovich could also do well among independents and even some Democrats so I think he'd win.
