Texas, so I can try to figure out how likely it is that the Dems won the state house.

I want to see Iowa.

Eastern Iowa going blue again means Biden probably won Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and the election. If it stays the same or moves right, Trump has a chance.

Florida.

a) It's an important state with a lot of electoral votes.

b) it has a good mix of urban areas, suburban areas, rural areas, which will show how different communities are voting relative to 2016.

c) it has a high percentage of minority voters (both black and hispanic) which will tell us if they are turning out at higher rates based on precinct/county results.

d) huge elderly population.  It will offer a clear indication if they are shifting to Biden due to coronavirus.

West Virginia, you may think I'm am crazy, well I am, but that's not the point. West Virginia if they vote for Trump they will move one closer to tie the states all-time streak (6 1932-1952) for consecutive times voting for the same party.

Uh, you want to see the map to find out who won West Virginia?

Anyway, I think a map of Wisconsin could be used to determine who won.

Only problem with this is there’s no state that both candidates absolutely need

Arizona, because the degree to which Maricopa County swings left and to which Mohave etc swings right will be highly correlated with the election as a whole

MI. If Biden is winning MI by more than a couple points, he almost surely won the election. If it's super close or Trump leads by any amount, I think Trump wins the election.

Wisconsin. If Biden wins Wisconsin, I think Trump's accidental presidency will be over.
