Minnesota. Very close to the national popular vote in 2016 and a state with a lot of trends and countertrends benefiting both parties.

I think in this case where you get the margin and not just the winner you don't need to pick the closest state. Rather I'd think you want a big and diverse state because that result should be more robust to idiosyncracies. So maybe Texas or Florida?
