To think something similar happened in Guyana just a short while ago. Liberal Democracy is undeniably dying as the bourgeois see that it does more harm then good, even with the odds stacked mostly in their favor.

Obviously election fraud? Isn't the guy running for reelection to avoid prison after the so-called December murders from the 1980s?

Can we really call Suriname a "liberal democracy"? I doubt every governing model can de described as such.

I have to side with Kingpolen here, it does make more sense to make the joke in Dutch all things considered given that it is the official language.
