Yes, absolutely, by definition. Polarization along all of these axes at once hurts an entire society culturally and spiritually regardless of whom it's helping or hurting electorally.

Electorally, who the hell knows? It's not even an open secret at this point that the Democratic coalition in principle represents way more Americans than the Republican coalition does, but the Republican coalition is cohesive enough to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat over and over again and, as we saw for much of the Obama era, capable of de facto governing the country even when it's on paper the "out" party. Democratic politicians have to pacify too many disparate groups for that.

It will hurt them in terms of winning the white vote and may cause further erosion but it will help them overall.

Culture war issues erode the Dems natural advantage on economic issues. So hell yes.

Whites and rural voters voting Republican definitely hurts Democrats, but I don’t think there’s significantly more men than women anywhere.

It has hurt America badly, thank you.  It has made identity everything and quality irrelevant. It helps entrench corruption, fanaticism, and incompetence. Partisan advantage for one side or the other is the least of our problems.
