Inspired by a recent topic where haplogroups were discussed, I thought it would be interesting to compile a list of Presidents by haplogroup.
For fun (see note below), I also included the ancient ethnic group(s) that we currently most associate with that haplogroup and also that President’s reported ancestry.

- Haplogroups are interesting, but they (to my limited knowledge) only measure paternal ancestry. If your male ancestor was from East Asia and somehow wound up in Europe and your entire family from that point on (besides him) was more “genetically European,” your haplogroup would still be from East Asia.
- RE: The “Ancient Pan-Ethnicity Associated” part, there is obviously no such thing as “Germanic DNA” or “Celtic DNA.” However, that is not how this is being used; it instead working the other way around. For example, the people who originally spread the Celtic languages are closely associated with subclades like R1b – M269 … rather than the R1b subclade making them Celtic, the fact that they were the proto-Celtic speakers “retroactively” makes that subclade associated with Celtic peoples, for the purpose of this post.
- To keep the list short, I did not include Presidents for whom I couldn't find anything.
