Biden is owed an apology from news media that smeared him, but sadly none will come. They will hide behind a wall twiddling their thumbs, unable to admit fault or regret.

The three people who started this have all deleted tweets about it.

Ironically, this saga only really proves once more Trump isn't completely wrong about the media's utter cowardice and self-righteousness.
This thing was very heavily pushed but when it turned out no fire to back up all that smoke, they put the truth second and their narrow short-term interests first by not giving spotlight to the changing direction of the story. For a bunch of people who purport to care so much about truth and uncovering corruption and malintent, they display moral corruption by putting short-term profits above informing people and malintent by taking action to the effect of slandering the moral character of an innocent man and elevating someone whose history ought to give red flags to a position they didn't deserve.
To their credit they did leave this alone for a long time, but once the ball was rolling they chickened out, and now sunk-cost fallacy means they are looking for a way out without having admitted their own role in helping this get this far.
Pathetic.

I cancelled my NYT subscription. Told them they were fools for buying into this before it had played out. They wanted to see papers that don’t exist when Trump is being sued by at least two people who said he assaulted them and he has like two dozen more accusers. That Liz Bruenig piece also pissed me off to no end. They just haven’t learned their lessons from 2016. I’m tired of the both sides BS because there’s just no both sides when it comes to stuff like this.

The lesson out of this pundits is to just wait things out a bit and see how they play out. John Oliver did this the best. He said several weeks ago that he just wanted some more time to form a full opinion bc the story was changing. There’s nothing wrong with saying you want time.

Idk if any legit publisher would take this. Seems like a libel lawsuit waiting to happen.
