I Imagine that if Obama was running for a third term in 2016, he would have beat Trump by the same amount he beat Romney and probably beat Toomey, Johnson and Blunt.

Usually I'm skeptical of giant hypotheticals like this, but I think this is pretty believable. Obama's the only Democrat who I think would easily defeat Trump if he were able to run again... The Hillary numbers are embarrassing. I think this proves that Obama was clearly a once-in-a-generation candidate.

Yep and Biden is much closer to Hillary than Obama as a candidate

We are in dire need of quality polls from swing states and PPP gives us this. I seriously despise this company. Such a fall from grace.

Hilary was under FBI investigation,  Biden isnt under an FBI investigation.  Every R administration have had convictions 1976 Watergate, 1992 Iran Contra, Ollie North 2006 Scooter Libby with WMDs, and Trump with Stone.

Dems 1 prosecution 1998 Clinton civil case, no jail time

No value in polling a hypothetical Obama vs Trump. Obama is a former President enjoying the popularity boost that ex-Presidents always get (Dubya and Carter have favorable approval right now because of this boost). At the same, the sitting President always has more heat on him than anyone else, since he’s in the thick of it.
True. However, Obama left office with high approval ratings unlike Carter or W.

So yeah, your point is irrelevant in this instance. Obama will ALWAYS be much more popular and well-liked than Trump will ever be. That's just one of the many reasons that Trump hates Obama.

I think this is a pretty fun and interesting poll and given how closely associated Biden is with Obama, it's not useless. PPP does good work and I think we can all survive with one less Florida poll five and a half months away from the election.

Ridiculous comparison
Unlike those 2 Obama was a popular president by the time he left office. This is not a situation where an ex president is being boosted by nostalgia wins over a current one

Even in 2016 when sitting President Obama had more heat on him than anyone else and he was in the thick of it.

polls at the time still showed that Voters overwhelmingly would chooses him over trump

I think trump himself knows deep down that Obama would have crushed him in 2016 or even in 2020.

Obama +11 against trump is completely, 100% believable.
I can see trump having a major tantrum when his aides show him this.

Just cause he is better liked doesn't mean he is a better President. The nice guy is usually never as effective as the tough minded businessman. JFK was better liked than Nixon but Nixon accomplished far more. JFK was great and overrated at the same time. He inspired people and he stood up for the working class but accomplishment wise he really didn't do crap besides tax cuts and the peace deal with Russia.

Obama really wasn't that popular of a president. It's a fact that Trump accomplished more in his first term than Obama. It's not even close. Obama had the Affordable Care Act, took out Bin Laden and the bailout. Trump has 2 supreme court justices, biggest tax cut in US history, Criminal Justice reform, new trade deal, deregulation, Chinese trade deal framework and tariffs, peace talks with North Korea. Could go on and on. He was below 50 the majority of his presidency approval wise the same as W. 2012 was fairly close historically and Romney was an awful candidate. Obama only won FL by 1% and Ohio by 2.5%. Christie could have beaten him in 2012.

I don't think it's a bad idea. It brings up the past and Trump can run on a change again. He has to tie Biden to the past and as the establishment.

Although Biden does want to tie himself to Obama as long as he is popular.

His first term isn't even over yet and you're already talking about history. Please. He has  one of the biggest upset victories ever in 2016 and liberals can never take that away from him. It's probably the biggest political upset in history. Nixon looks far better now than he did in 1974. Trump is a similar figure: hated by elites and the establishment by liked by a sizable portion of the electorate who had an unconventional presidency.

Since then, it's been revealed that he tried, perhaps successfully, to prolong the Vietnam War to help his electoral chances. He looks much worse now.

One point: Obama also had two Supreme Court Justices in his first term...

Other additional point: "2012 was fairly close historically"Huh?

Obama 2012: 332 EVs, 65.9M votes (+5M), 51.1% (+3.9%)
trump 2016: 304 EVs, 62.9M votes (-2.9M), 46.1% (-2.1%)

OTHER additional point: You seem to have left off how Obama brought us out of a recession in his first term, and trump brought us right back into one.

Bottomline: Lololololololololol.

You are delusional if you think trump "accomplished" more than Obama.
Hate to put it to you, but trump will go down as one of the worst presidents in modern-day US history. PERIOD.

His entire presidency so far, has been one gigantic s**t-show.
As each day passes (since 2016), it's getting worse, not better. One does not have to wait until "the end of his first term" to determine what Mr-Inject-Disinfectants will do next to destroy our nation and its processes.
