Eliot Spitzer wins the Democratic Nomination for President in 2008 following upset wins in Iowa, New Hampshire and Nevada.

He picks Barack Obama as his running mate.

John McCain wins the Republican nomination, when he did IRL, and as IRL, picks Sarah Palin as his running mate.

After the conventions, the Emperor's Club Prostitution Scandal involving Spitzer is published in the media.

With this background, who wins?

If Spitzer didn't back down then he would lose the election. If he did and Obama became the nominee, Obama would still win but lose Indiana and maybe North Carolina due to the connection with Spitzer.
