A la Bayh 2016 or Lautenberg 2002?

Manchin is an executive at heart, he doesn't like partisanship like the Senate.

No.  It wouldn't make any sense.  If he wants to be governor again, he would just wait until 2024 when Justice is term limited out and run for the open seat instead of a 90%+ unwinnable race for another term in the Senate.

Agreed. If Manchin decides to run for Governor, it’ll be in 2024.

Also, the filing deadline in WV passed already, so Manchin can’t run anyways. He also has already endorsed Ben Salango in the primary.

I doubt Manchin runs in 2024. He would be over 80 at the end of his term.

That, uh, hasn't stopped anyone from running for even higher offices than governor recently.

Dianne Feinstein in 2018? Manchin isn't running for anything this year. He's staying in the Senate.

The (technically still "presumptive") Democratic nominee for President of the United States.

And the runner up!

And the Speaker of the House, and the Senate Majority Leader if he wins in 2020, not to mention the current president is seeking reelection and will be 78 at the end of 2024.

He would still be a year younger than Joe Biden in his first presidential term. 80 is the new 60 Tongue

Filing deadline passed--check
Ballots printed--check
Manchin makes endorsement--check
Absentees mailed out and being returned--check
Bronz makes insipid "What If"--check

That's a wrap, people.

How can we expect Salango to do? Better than Trump no doubt, but a heavy underdog; does he lose any counties?

Why would Manchin make a late entry and he will be a power broker in a D control Senate, since at least a tied Senate is probable
