State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo challenges appointed Senator Kirsten Gillibrand in the 2010 Special Election Democratic Primary.

Who wins the primary?

Bonus: With Cuomo no longer running for Governor, who is now the Democratic nominee for Governor in 2010?

I think Cuomo would win, Gillibrand was an unpopular pick and barring any gaffes I think Cuomo would win the primary. Paterson would probably be renominated for governor, Cuomo seemed to be the only person interested in challenging him. It would be a real tossup though, Paterson was losing most polls and Bloomberg or Giuliani might have jumped in seeing a more winnable race. I think the Republicans take the governorship in 2010 and probably retain until the 2018 blue wave.

Cuomo definitely would win. Gillibrand has never been popular, especially in the year 2010. Cuomo would probably win.
