What are the chances of McMaster getting primaried? He had some stiff challenges in 2018, and I’ve heard some have thought he might face it again. Tim Scott has ruled himself out from basically every election beside his next senate race, so who else might challenge him? If any?

McMaster will likely have a relatively easy path to reelection. He will no doubt face a primary challenge because he dared to treat COVID as a serious problem, but he should survive that. Realistically, the only way McMaster loses in 2022 is if Haley unexpectedly decides she wants her office back.

McMaster should be fine. He's quite popular in the state.
