Quote
A grand jury has been empaneled to investigate the fatal shooting of Breonna Taylor in Louisville, Kentucky, two people close to the process told CNN.

The grand jury, which was empaneled this week, "will be hearing other criminal cases first to get their feet wet with the process and then hear the Taylor case," a source close to the investigation told CNN on Wednesday.
Grand jury

Legally speaking the cops were probably fired at first and they had the "right" to retaliate back once their lives were in danger. Morally speaking this is still murder to me as the man fired one shot in self defense of his own abode against thugs invading his house in the night with no warning but the cops probably get off.

if the cops were not involved in securing the warrant, they shouldn't be charged.  The big villains here are the DA (or whoever) pushed for the warrant and Judge that signed off on it.

One thing I will say is the protests at least prevented the more important miscarriage of justice, cops hate it when they get shot and were trying to  push the DA to basically screw Walker over for shooting 1 bullet at a cop which may not even have hit him.

https://reason.com/2014/09/17/texas-wants-to-execute-man-who-killed-ho/

Basically cops executed a no-knock warrant and found little proof of drugs besides a glass bong. However the dude shot at the cops because well they were thugs invading in the middle of the night. Now the cops want him executed because he killed one cop
Can't find what happened to this case

https://reason.com/2008/03/18/another-drug-raid-nightmare/

Or this one where they found enough to nab the dude with a few grams of WEED !. No-knock warrants especially for drug cases put everyone's life at danger . This dude got put in jail till 2016 for voluntary manslaughter, cops must be sad they couldn't execute him. Also don't forget the cops got the information for the warrant by sending an informant to break into his house. So when he gets robbed again? Yeah of course he has a reasonable fear of thugs breaking into his house.

We have such a beautiful, strong, impartial, and colorblind justice system.

The city of Louisville reportedly settled with her family for $12 million dollars. This is one of the largest wrongful death settlements in US history paid due to police misconduct/injury/death.

Slap on the wrist charges for only one officer, not good.

It wasn't even a no-knock warrant? How did the media lie to us for six months straight? That's the biggest crime in all of this.

And Daniel Cameron is out there disgracefully tap-dancing for the cops.

I'm guessing probation, re-hire, and a full pension. Promotion for the two not charged.

https://www.lex18.com/news/covering-kentucky/breonna-taylor-evidence-photos-contradict-lmpds-no-body-cam-claim

Here's some post investigation pics.  Turns out one of the cops actually had a BODY CAM!. If a cop has a body cam and decides not to turn it on and if they conduct misconduct, I assume guilt on them. This was just a pure out home invasion with no knocks. If the cops lied about a body cam they lied about knocking.
Anyway I highly doubt the cop actually knocked with a no-knock warrant, they idiotically entered someone's private adobe in the middle of the night. One of them got shot and they returned back with hellfire in revenge for their injured mafia brother or whatever and now they want to ruin the victim's image.

Very late, but wouldn't this by itself be enough to charge the policemen with obstruction of justice or maybe tampering with evidence?

Imo, while murder is probably a step too far, at the absolute minimum the police did a ton of malpractices and should spend a handful of years in jail for said malpractices (tampering with evidence, forgery, obstruction of justice, etc)

Riots and violence are never justified. Civil disobedience is acceptable and even encouraging in many cases, but riots are not

Excuse the source, but this is the video everyone on Twitter is quoting from. It wasn't "served as a" no-knock warrant if I can amend my initial outrage. Of course the left refuses to believe the word of people in power.

I don’t think he was saying riots were justified, but that they become inevitable when people are subjected to injustice after injustice.

Read the whole passage of the text before you come at me with the civility stuff. MLK wasn't defending riots but saying they happen because of gross systemic injustice against African Americans as in this case.

At 1:00 AM in the morning!

Let's use common sense please. Prosecutors have always maintained that they knocked but the court records show the warrant did have a no knock provision.
